They said that about Carolina too. Nobody pressures like Carolina. Seriously, people need to stop gargling Jersey. You think Devils fans are scared of us? Jesus.

Also, there are Blackhawks writers and fans that think this deal isn't even structured yet lmao. I mean, seriously?
They turned it on last year in the playoffs. Both Fox and Mika went PPG+. Hopefully the same happen this year. And we see last year's Igor.

I dont know what the return for Kane looks like but if a first is involved i hope its next years

It's going to be a struggle to get past NJ. We don't match up with their speed at all.
Its a tough matchup but i take our D and goaltending over theirs. I think scoring is a wash imo especially when we add Kane and have 3 legit scoring lines.

its embarrassing, but it only reveals how impressionable and naïve some poster are in this board

NJ fans are indeed afraid of Hughes or someone else getting run over by Trouba. It's practically a given that he will not spare any of the opposition.

The Regular Season champions? Florida 2.0

If we lose to New Jersey, Gallant should be fired.
That is kind of ridiculous, tbh. No team is unbeatable, but NJD is better than NYR is at winning hockey games this year. But not CAR. They aren't better than we are no matter what the record says.

Gallant doesn't deserve to get fired if they lose to NJD. If they somehow match up against Pitt or the NYI at one point and lose, then yes everyone gets fired into Venus.

It definitely is lol . No one’s gonna cry over losing the 30th overall pick, or at least they shouldn’t.
But it wouldn’t be the 30th overall pick, the 30th overall pick would goto stl. It would be the Dallas pick who could drop out in the first round. That could cost nyr a potentia quality prospect like musty, steamel etc… a conditional pick in 2024 draft that is top 15 protected makes the most sense if they need to have that provision in it.

NJ's been a bit lucky this year in that they've been able to outscore their problems and get timely goaltending, a bit like the Rangers last season
If they can't either keep that up or even out their defense then they won't make it out of round 1

But...no team makes it out of round one without playing well or getting some hot performances to carry them through

That confident huh?

Trouba has to catch Hughes first though

Especially with this cap.

The main criticism vis-a-vis '94 is that you knew you could keep everyone you wanted to.
If they were planning to just bring back Kane and Tarasenko on 4 year deals all this would be way better.

The trade call will be made as soon as NHL office opens. For all I know they may have 24 hour service on trade calls. There will a private jet bringing Kane to NY. He is not flying Southwest out of Midway. Schneider never left town. There will be 88 sweaters on sale in the team store. Several here will piss and moan about the outgoing trade. Game time is 7:00 PM. Carry on.
I love you Bob…you’re the best.

In regards to Jersey they have proven they are a very good team. Consistent too.

But even a realistic Devils fan will tell you no one really knows how that roster will fare in the playoffs, which is a different game all together.

Not to say there is a lack of respect, but they have to prove it in the postseason, just like the Rangers have to. They almost didn’t get out of the first round last year.

After the garbage the Devils traded for Meier the Rangers should be able to get away with a 2nd rounder and Leschysyn for Kane
you mean a 1st, 2nd*, Zetterlund, and Mukhamadullin.
*reach conf finals with Timo playing 50% po games.
The rest of the players were just transactional garbage/noise.
SJ did not do very well with their return but that trade will have no bearing on what we pay.
The advantage for us is that Kane is controlling his fate here. When you have a NTC, you can dictate your destination. This is not the first time the Rangers will be getting a trade discount because someone wanted to come to NY.

Chris Johnston discussed Kane on his podcast. The framework of the trade is in place. The 3rd team is in place. The Rangers will wait until Wednesday or Thursday to complete the trade.

Is Vancouver the 3rd team?

I heard Kravtsov's agent Dan Milstein on Vancouver show. They gave the Rangers a list of teams Vitaly wanted to play for.

Milstein said the Rangers lowered their price. Did the Rangers lower their price when VAN agreed to be the 3rd team in helping the Rangers clear money to accrue space by obtaining Kravtsov and then retaining 25% on Kane?

Def feels like Van is the 3rd team

I can’t help but think the Kravtsov return was light because Vancouver is also helping out with salary retainment.

Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking.
The speculation is that the retention is so negligible that it’s worth about a 5th round pick. What does that mean Kravtsov was worth to Vancouver in a vacuum then, being that they have us back a 7th and a contract? A third maybe?

I hope Vancouver helps us out as we basically handed them a free Kravstov (yes I know his value was low but still think he would be worth a 3rd or 4th rounder). Hopefully they have the deal made already where Vancouver takes back their 7th rounder to retain 25 percent on Kane.

The reason the Devils concern me as a 1st round opponent is because they remind me of last years NYR team. Playoffs were the goal, anything beyond that is just icing on the cake. Zero pressure for them. They even have that scrappy comeback from any deficit mentality that the Rangers had last season.

The Rangers on the other hand have all the pressure after last year. Adding two flashy superstar rentals almost ADDS pressure. It's clearly cup or bust and I worry that the vets don't have the mentality to stay out of their own heads and not get snake bit when it counts.

I'm excited no matter what, but I actually think the Devils are the worst card for the Rangers to draw in round 1.

But there's going to be some inexperience at first just like there was with us. If we outplay them like the Penguins outplayed us, we'll probably win.

We’ll just have Kreider throw an iPad into the air and Trouba shoot it down with a helmet during the national anthem before game 1 and we’ll be fine.
