Half the board already wants him in the NHL next season. It’s like nobody ever learns that rushing players doesnt work.
He should get a season in the AHL. There is no reason to rush him or should they, especially on this stacked roster.

Rangers dont really have that luxury with a flat cap. It's possible he doesnt break camp with the team but he's a talented prospect on an ELC, he wont be in Hartford for an extended period of time imo.
He will probably need some time in the AHL, but he is a good player. He might have a chance to crack the lineup right away, but always best to err on the side of caution.Half the board already wants him in the NHL next season from opening night. It’s like nobody ever learns that rushing players doesnt work. Those are also probably the same posters who just continuously bash kakko and laf the last 2-3 years.
That’s an unrealistic expectation if you think he can just work out a few months and be ready to withstand the NHL. If it were only that easy…How about we let Othmann's play dictate when he makes the team? He isn't ready now, but that may not be the case 6 months from now.
His body definitely needs to catch up to his game. He's always taken almost as much as hes given and his body needs to be ale to withstand that. He should spend the summer in CT training with pros (Lafreniere should, instead of going home and skating with beer leaguers and QMJHL over agers.)
I dont know how orgs give so much free reign for their athletes, when it comes to training. A massive org should be hiring personal trainers for all their talent. There should be some protocols in place. I also dont comprehend how little they teach on nutrition. How about we let Othmann's play dictate when he makes the team? He isn't ready now, but that may not be the case 6 months from now.

To add to this, I also think the Rangers knew they had Panarin and Kreider locked up when they won Lafreniere, and should have committed to moving somebody to RW and f***ing stuck with it.To make a long story short
1) Fundamental skills seem to either stagnate or deteriorate on the Rangers and that predates Gallant. This is different from your in-season coaching staff.
2) The Rangers didn't build confidence right away (Quinn failed at this big time) and they got replaced by better players as the team got more competitive.
but you dont understand. They said they aren't as comfortable as being on LW.To add to this, I also think the Rangers knew they had Panarin and Kreider locked up when they won Lafreniere, and should have committed to moving somebody to RW and f***ing stuck with it.
We're at the point now where we can't afford that level of experimentation.
Is this legit? Where is this coming from? Everything I've searched says the average goals per game per team is around 3.23 (which is high, last time it was higher was 3.24 in 93-94.) Last year was 3.15 per game per team... a 50% increase would be 4.72 goals per game per team.It might look like we are, but I'm beginning to think we need a stickied post reminding everyone that scoring is up over 50%.

I agree that NYR are not doing awfully on the D side.

We can't have people doing uncomfortable things in this country club.
It didn't have to be Kreider. Laffy was fine there and coming along.... but nope. They tried it with Kreider, he can't do it.
Panarin said that he didn't want to and they didn't try to force it upon him. The appease Panarin movment has always been a thing and its in full effect now. If it fails miserably, he should be moved.
I dont even know how to quantify that, but I take your point.I didn't mean last year.
It's up 50% from when the core of regular posters joined the forum.
It makes sense with Kreider. He's a straight ahead player who's not going to be collecting many passes on his backhand. Being on his strong side suits his speed game. They tried it with Kreider, he can't do it.

It's a bit of a gray area. I would say 12-17 is probably the Hank run, and it's also DPE2 (which was low-key worse than the DPE) and a lot of our posters are from that time.I dont even know how to quantify that, but I take your point.
Jamie Benn won the Art Ross with 87 points. Kane with slightly over 100. That would be laughable now. It's a bit of a gray area. I would say 12-17 is probably the Hank run, and it's also DPE2 (which was low-key worse than the DPE) and a lot of our posters are from that time.
It went from about 4 goals then to 6 goals now.
Chris Kreider had 77 points last year. He would have hung around in the Art Ross race in 2015.Jamie Benn won the Art Ross with 87 points. Kane with slightly over 100. That would be laughable now.
People forget that he also played in not one but two high end hockey tournaments being the World Junior August 2022 and then again in Christmas of 22 ......plus he got traded in junior . He likely has a bit of a hockey hangover happening . I think he will be great come next Fall for training camp .How about we let Othmann's play dictate when he makes the team? League finally caught on that offense sells. NFL, MLB and NBA are way ahead in that aspect.Chris Kreider had 77 points last year. He would have hung around in the Art Ross race in 2015.
I don't think the league really did anything. There were certainly no rule changes. I feel like clutching and grabbing is at a high since the lockout (thanks, Trotz and Cooper).League finally caught on that offense sells. NFL, MLB and NBA are way ahead in that aspect.
Too bad the Rangers still haven't gotten the memo, tactically speaking. Roster is set up for offense at least.
Get well, friend.Us playing a game would be kind of great right now. I’ve been home sick as a dog since Monday and diagnosed with pneumonia and possible abscess on the right lung today so, suffice to say, I have never felt worse in my life. I’d kill to watch a Rangers win and not my wife’s cringe TV series’ right now.
I think the rule changes and new tactics are finally coming to fruition. Kids are definitely more skilled. No cross checking in front has helped a lot.. sticks have become absurd too.. PP success has taken off as well. Feel like everyone is running a variation of 1-3-1 nowI don't think the league really did anything. There were certainly no rule changes. I think it comes down to equipment and culture.
These sticks they have nowadays are like steel beams that somehow weigh nothing and flex like flubber.
And as I've mentioned many times, forwards don't really play defense anymore.
I think McDavid has a lot to do with the latter. He has an entire generation of players focused on skating and skill, whereas Crosby was very much a "the right way" player, as talented as he is.
Ironically, McDavid is outstanding defensively by today's standards but it's not what he gets noticed for.
