It seems like there is a lot less concern about the age of players we might be acquiring than there was during the season.

I see from Kakko's IG that he was at the Knicks game
Your not wrong. Most would like to upgrade from strome because he’s going to price himself out of NY soon and beyond scoring points, he a very vanilla player at everything else. He was also given prime PP time. The only thing I’ve seen others state is they want someone in to diversify the position. Maybe they won’t get as many points as strome, but do everything else better, hence making our line up better. But that doesn’t go along with the narrative. I’ve not seen one poster try to bring in a winger that would block LaF, Kakko, or Kravtsov. They closet thing I’ve seen is some would like to trade Buch and sign Coleman for 3rd line duties, but I don’t think that would be a good idea. Again, Coleman playing third line, and trading Buch would not block the kids. But I digressI’m honestly amazed that this narrative is still being pushed. Did this simply just not happen in your world with Blackwell last season?
Also, I could be wrong, but most here seem to be advocating for swapping Strome with a (potentially older) player who does things other than score points. Who here is trying to bring in 30 year olds to continue to keep Lafreniere, Kakko, and Kravtsov off the PP and out of the top 6/9?
Think they could get the kid some better seats or what?!I see from Kakko's IG that he was at the Knicks game
Sounds like they could use buchnevich.

The Pens have been bounced in the first round 3 years in a row. Crosby and Malkin will be 34 and 35 to start next season and their window is closing quickly. They've sunk a ton of draft capital into getting "win now" guys. Those things alone will likely be enough to get Sully fired.
The more interesting notes are that 1) The Pens won their last 3 cups all within ~18 months of having fired their head coach and 2) Pittsburgh sports fans despise the fact that the Steelers stick with coaches for way too long. The Pens players seem to thrive on whacking their coach and it wins them a ton of points with their fans.
Something around Strome and another player for Thomas and Sundqvist or Barbashev could be interesting. Strome is going to price himself out and is not long for this organization. Getting Thomas in return, should STL be foolish enough to deal him, would be a coup.nothing on STL is that interesting outside of ROR and that ain’t happening. Does Strome for Thomas really change much?
Monahan is also going to be coming off hip surgery. I have absolutely zero interest in him at this point.if you're going to trade for Monahan just keep Strome.
You're probably right but I have heard rumors that Crosby wants to contribute to their future rather than hang around making spider webs.I get the point but with team legends like those it seems more likely that Pitt just rides until they die rather than rebuild.
Same with Washington andOvechkin
The problem with Gallant has been that his culture tends to last less than 3 seasons. It has been that way in all 3 of his coaching gigs. So what happens during that third season? Heck, he was fired by Vegas while they were in first place. If Sullivan becomes available, then I hope Drury does his due diligence on him; but all things being equal, I'd still rather Gallant.
Gallant strikes me as a guy who is likely to instill a winning culture, even if he isn't the one to be here when we win.
New GM may want his own guy, not someone he inherited.Imo Drury would very likely take Sullivan over Gallant for better or worse. Not sure why they’d fire him though, that team is past its peak whether they have some regular season hot streaks or not.
Monahan? Hertl is a better player, better on face offs same age and will probably come in close to the same number (6-7M I believe Monahan is 6.5 iirc). I’d much rather Hertl to Monahan unless he can duplicate his 18-19 season.
The day that Hertl Turtled...
not gonna lie I was so salty about the 4th goal 3 years prior that I wanted him to keep punching lolDamn, McIlrath could've absolutely murdered him there
