@KreiderBomb .....Tony was part of the 20-21 plans by the Ranger brass or he would not have been signed . Guys that are asses are NOT signed ....it's that SIMPLE ! Nobody knew that on ice incident was going to happen....NOBODY...not even the GM Gorton and certainly not you by any means . It's easy to make the calls after stuff happens.....internet armchair experts .

They tried to trade him, couldn't, so they signed him because it was either that or let him walk, he was always a liability in his own end, his point totals were elevated by Panarin and Zibanejad being all world players, when they struggled his points went to nothing and what you were left with was a defensive liability. Was he any good in the bubble....absolutely not....was he any good to start this year, probably worse if thats possible. Did anyone claim him off waivers? Nope. Did anyone trade for him, nope.

Yea my brothers a realtor in NJ. He can’t keep a house for more then a week. Some are offering above asking price just to get the deal done. NY has to get its act together. I don’t know anyone that left that plans on going back
Real estate has gone crazy here on our small island . Cottage properties are selling like crazy and at high for here type pricing fueled by the people from Ontario and the eastern US . We were basically Covid free...had one hospitalization since it started . Being somewhat isolated has helped....and just going by my own property values...has sure helped the retirement fund plans . That part one has to love !!!!

...and why not ? Every player can be traded . We have the assets a rebuilding club would want . Penguins eventually will move him and he will ask at some point . He is not going to play his last 4-5 seasons on a loser . So....what are the " so many reasons " that you are surmising on ?

They won't.

Rutherford got fired because he wanted to move Letang. Crosby's going to be a lifer in Pittsburgh.

Really....I never knew that about Letang . I still think he will finish up elsewhere . He is too much of a winner to want to play through the really bad seasons they are facing soon enough . He will also likely play as long as he remains healthy enough to do so . He is a warrior and a competitor .....I don't see him enduring a 5-7 year rebuild with them . That is also what they will face as a club unless he is dealt . Anyways....it's all speculation and nobody is right or wrong .

Everyone is talking Coleman, Goodrow, Martinook and rightfully so why not Brock McGinn who is younger at 27 and would be another good option.

Trade for Faksa someone with bite and faceoff ability is one of the issues I’d fix is faceoff % via help from the coach, UFA, trade with someone who is a fit for this young team, not a retirement contract or vet.

I see he’s a LW however or does he play both?

Stepan,Brassard, Gaborik, arguably Dubinsky as well.
Brassard is a decent call. I thought his WC performance was breathtaking. Gaborik is lol funny. Dubinsky got space jam'd the season before.

I think we have different definitions of selling high. I'm thinking more what they did before being traded. You're thinking more what they did after.

I said it was an overreaction to trade Barkov because Tampa was beating them.
Ok, well now we are getting somewhere. I don't think that would be the only reason it would happen if it did. But I think what's being argued is Florida is not as good as they appear to be and will potentially be losing Quenville (allegedly, I say that for legal purposes).

No, this isn't speculation. You are wrong.

I said absolutely nothing about Barkov in my quote to you. I'm sure their intentions are to sign him. I'm just pointing out that this is essential the same Panthers team that was disappointing last season, and the only difference is that they didn't play a full season and they played 71% of their games against bad teams. So you're making my argument for me by saying "seeing how they stack up against the rest of the league." At this point you cannot take their play this season at face value and have to look at it in the context of this is not reality as far as seasons go. Next season they will play 82 games against the entire league.

This is not correct at all. Zito and Q got rid of a lot of deadwood and added Gudas, Wennberg, Hornqvist, Forsling, Nutivaara, Lomberg etc and now Bennett to the already strong core. The Panthers are doing exactly what they need to do, help build around their strong core. Get rid of more deadwood, add a capable defenceman or two and some alround forwards and they are in very good shape going forward.

Florida's main objective is to give Seattle Bobrovsky and a 2nd rounder and some prospect to take that contract off their hands. His cap hit is crippling.

Assuming the Blackhawks can’t re-sign Zadorov, would anyone be interested in trading for him and signing him to a 2-3 year deal? I’m not sure what his next deal will look like. $3m per season?
