I’m sure you would offer him a massive contract and then post about the Rangers being fiscally irresponsible and the “same ol’Rangers.
Absolutely not. I've said many times I'm willing to spend on foundational pieces and areas of need. Zibanejad is both of those things.

I sure you would lol. In 3 years he’s in the 28/29 so resigning him is the “same ol’Rangers” you preach hating lol.

Don’t forget the no-trade/poison pill clause

Show me where I've said that the Rangers shouldn't sign any players.

Yes, I would love to see this bottom six depth you think we have.
we actually have a lot, but that's not what you said. You said the Rangers don't sign cheap forward depth, and theres a long list of cheap signings and PTOs we gave out for just that. Most got waived, released, or buried. But not for lack of trying.

If you can't understand the difference, I can't help you.

29 is 29 regardless of where the player came from and a long contract with so much youth likely commanding dollars is comically wrong. Help yourself before you preach about your inability to help others

Ok so if you wouldn't sign Greg McKegg at 29, don't sign Gretzky at 29. 29 is 29. Got it.

Signing Brassard would have been the old Rangers? When have the Rangers ever explored cheap depth?

LOL, serious question?

Prospal. Rissmiller. Voros. Christensen. Fedotenko. Frolov. Asham. Carcillo. Moore. Powe. Pouliot. Stralman. Pyatt and his pretty blue eyes.

Dude, there are so many players we have brought here over the years. These are guys off the top of my head. If I actually took the time to research it I bet there would be dozens since the lockout.

Because nobody wants to hear any criticism of a team that's had virtually no success. It's bizarre.

Your criticism sounds like my ex-wife ****ing just to *****.

[Q]Why did you put the dishes in the dishwasher?
[A]Would you have preferred I put them somewhere else?
[Q]Yes!
[A]Ok. Where?
[Q]You should have just washed them and put them away
[A]Why'd we get a dishwasher then?
[Q]RAAWWWRRRRR ASDF ASDF ASDF

This is really all over Brassard signing with the Islanders? The league is cap-strapped and no one is making any moves with how many big pending RFAs there currently are. Just because guys like Namestnikov and Strome won't be moved now, it doesn't mean that they won't be moved later.

Besides, they have the cap space to sign Deangelo and Lemieux on one-year deals with enough cushion to maintain the team this season. It's not ideal, but it's what they'll have to deal with.

I also think that people are really overstating the degree to which NYR have problems at the center ice position, and there was a small vocal faction that wanted to sign Brassard. Odd, since he really only ever played well with either Nash or Zuccarello.

If we can't pull a 2nd line center out of one of Andersson, Howden, or Chytil this year, then we're in deep trouble. Whoever slides into that 2C slot is going to be playing with some real quality wingers. Worst case scenario, Strome or Namestnikov can play there and be the two-way element to a line with offensive minded players. Put Brendan Morrisson between Naslund and Bertuzzi and all of a sudden you had a completely different center iceman.

Not really.

I simply asked why we didn't explore Brassard which was a cheap, no-risk option that made sense to me. To which a couple of people replied (rightfully so) that we're in a cap crunch, and I said, basically, that we put ourselves in the cap crunch because we had to do a Rongos thing.

Nobody wanted to hear that.

Pull out Stephane Matteau if we're going that far back.
