I was excited when Brassard signed here in Denver. Unfortunately, he is not a difference maker anymore.

He can't out skate or outhit anybody so he has to be a great shooter or passer. He did none of those things in Colorado skating on the third and fourth line.

He expressed his desire to be in Colorado and was basically told, "no thanks".

His five minutes of fame are long gone.

Brassard if he doesnt find another gear this year is on his last contract. He looks like he is wearing cement skates.

Feelin' good on a Wednesday
This fetish with past players who never won anything here has to end.

So far (and I liked the player) Brassard got us Zbad... and a chance for more. Hopefully.

It’s all fluid moves to get us to the promised land and once the NYR move on I move on for the most part. Especially w older players. Brass has no business being here now... that’s y he’s in LI

It's the same people that bitched and moaned when we traded away Brass. That deal set us up for years.

So would I, but we don't appear to be sellers anymore.

If we're going to rebuild, continue rebuilding. If we're not doing that, don't leave huge holes in the lineup.

we aren't sellers anymore based on what? cause we didn't trade guys for pennies on the dollar when there was no trade market?

and brassard doesn't fill any holes or make us better...if he wasn't a former ranger and a fan favorite people would say he is complete ass and would want no part of it.

Everybody is a genius in August

Not the f***in Rangers!
Ok, professor. :rolly:

You know I'm joking but in all seriousness, I just feel like we did this whole rebuild thing to not be the same old Rangers who throw money at everything, and we get one break (admittedly a big one) and we start throwing money at everything again.

I'm ok with Panarin because talent like that doesn't just come along, but is this the summer we needed to make a big move for a defenseman? When our LHD is still the worst in the league? When our 2C is still Ryan Strome?

But if you're gonna put yourself in a cap crunch, you might as well put your best team on the ice. The Rangers don't seem very interested at all in doing anything about center (again, same old Rangers) nor do they even seem to think there's a problem. Instead they spent big on a scoring winger and a puck-moving RHD, the top two things they absolutely did not need.

He's not complete ass. He's had as many bad years in the NHL as Filip Chytil has.

Then why did we trade for Trouba? What is actually the plan here?
My comment was a hypothetical, premised on us signing Brassard for 2C. We didnt do that, for obvious reasons. There is something to try for this season. We have better possibilities for 2c than Brassard. In fact, almost all of them.
