That + better be a 1st round pick.

Then if we can move panarin somewhere for a young roster player and (2) 1st round picks..1 this year and 1 next.

Im all in for it.
Anaheim, Arizona or Buffalo.

The only glimmer of hope would be Anaheim. It would be contigent on Anaheim actually wanting to pay 11.6M for Panarin, while giving up a young asset AND Panarin waiving.

It's unlikely. I'd say we're more likely to win another lottery than for that to happen.

Where the hell are ya gonna find that deal

What team can even afford Panarin that would want to take him

*poster above answered my question right when i asked. And i agree eith them. Unlikely as hell

Pointless thing to complain about. For one he had almost the exact same iHDCF60 two years ago. For two, he has the third highest iXG60 of his career this year. For three, he has the highest on ice HDCF60 of his career this year. There’s different ways to he successfully and crashing the net and taking shots in close isnt the only one. He’s never had a lot of high danger chances himself. He sets them up. He had the 5th lowest iHDCF in the league from 2018 to 2020. This has always been his game and is common for playmakers. Thornton, getzlaf, Krejci are other guys who rate poorly there
This is a good point on the scoring chance stats as it relates to playmakers. This is where xgf% should play more of a role, since it should account for the plays he creates along w/ the chances he faces while on the ice. Panarin’s xgf% at ES has been on a steady decline each year and is now among the lowest of all our top 9 forwards.

Whatever magic he had his first two years seems to be gone. I don’t know if it’s physical decline or just personal drive, but the trend is very obvious. However, it doesn’t mean another team will view it the same way, as he’s still a rare talent. We’re just not in a position to afford an $11.6mm cap hit with so many other holes to fill.

He was also terrible on faceoffs and suspect defensively.
He also stuck up for teammates, more than Mika Panarin has ever done. Nice to have some of their leaders that dont do that 🤮 At least Kreider has done that. Maybe he is playing hurt too. Who knows.

Canucks are looking to make moves. Is there a deal for Horvat that’s possible? Seems like the kind of guy you’d want to bring in, in this situation.
Goodbye Othmann first round picks and for a player that will leave at season ends. No thanks. UFA. I’d trade for Jones and 2ed for him

If Gallant wanted to send a message and break up the cliques:

Kreider - Chytil - Kakko
Laf - Trocheck - Kravtsov
Panarin - Zibanejad - Gauthier
Blais - Goodrow - Vesey
It will be the same predictable lines. I guess it’s easy for them to remember. If its not working, fix it.

xG% is not reliable for the top players. They outscore their xG across the board by a lot. It's more useful as an aggregate for a team that for individual players who are far outside the norm. Let's take a look at 10 of the leading scorers in the league the last 3 years - excluding guys who play on the same team.

McDavid, Matthews, Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Kaprizov, Robertson, MacKinnon, Panarin, Guentzel, Kane.

They combined for 1,383 GF on 1,125 xGF. Every single one outscored their xG. You can say it is biased because of the fact that I picked out the top scorers who obviously accrued GF, and it is true, but they do it consistently. Crosby has outscored his xG in all but two years. Ovechkin in all but three years. McDavid in all but one year. Panarin in every year.

If I'm Drury, I'm not sure what I can do with this group. Maybe bring in a real leader to hopefully pull them together. Either a player or a coach. But is that person out there? Don't know. I don't think it's any one villain here...it's just a bunch of mellowish personalities and a lack of any urgency out accountability. But we say accountability like panarin and Mika and kreider are doing something bad. But they're not. They're just not the leaders a team needs.
I think Drury understands this and we can see he has tried bringing in more gritty players. It just hasn't worked.
I suppose they can try a new coach or push some different players into lead roles.
I can't imagine them moving a Panarin or a Mika or a Kreider. And that doesn't even solve the problem, really. It's quite a quandary.

Drury absolutely nailed the TDL last season.

Everything else has been average to dog shit.
Depends on whether you thought we had a chance of beating Colorado or Tampa, cus if you didnt he probably just wasted a 1st rounder and gave away a solid prospect in Barron, who btw Winnipeg is loving. Its all perspective, i would have been happy keeping both those things and losing in the 1st round last year because imo we had no chance.

Barron just scored

NMC

Maybe they will waive.

I think the best you're going to get is from trading Shesty.

People really wanna trade Igor 🤔
