It's all so tiresome
Hard to disagree, this isn't the core that's gonna bring a cup to New York. The Rangers need to rebuild again.

I haven't ventured to the main boards in months. It's such a disaster over there. If you guys want a laugh amongst all this misery, somebody on the main boards proposed this as a trade and then tried to defend it.
"Rangers have a kick ass team one of my favorite to whatch, but for some reason they don't have a great year.
I beleive (correct me if i am wrong) but the left side D is not great compare to all other positions.
Habs have a shit load of great LHD.
Habs : Jordan Harris (very smart LHD) + Edmundson (50%) + 2rd pick (probably a high one) + Ylonen
For
Rangers : Rangers and Dallas first in 2023, (top 5 protected on both)"

Not trading Shesterkin until I know he wants 8+ per yearNMC
Maybe they will waive.
I think the best you're going to get is from trading Shesty.
The Rangers need to rebuild again.
It's a cycle
Let's get that guy
Clauses, big cap hit, no big deal.
He's good, see
Well, he's still okay
Now he stinks
Rangers can't get rid of him?
Clauses, big cap hit, who gave those to him?
I agree it's unlikely, but if they are truly as unhappy as their play indicates, it could be possible. How do we convince Kreider, Trouba, Zibanejad and Panarin to waive? We could probably do well moving those pieces actually.
Remember when people complained that the deals Drury was giving out weren’t good, and then those people were shouted down?
Yeah those deals weren’t good.
Convince Gorton to come back?Who are you hiring to replace Drury?
The next GM will make the same mistakes.
Gallant has to take the candies from the babies. If say Kreider or Panarin or whoever it is isn't pulling their weight, take them off the pp, reduce their ice, embarass them with less ice time until they get the message. At the same time show some faith in the kids to do that work. Its the only tool he can use, and he needs to.
I think these are both really good, constructive, feasible ideas. A very good starting point.Drury needs to have a clear conversation with all of the vets.
"I am not moving any of the kids, you will be moved before they are. If we lose, and they don't play. Then we're not giving you reinforcements to continue to lose. The team will sink or swim with the kids after you've left.
You want to a cup, get the kids to play better. And stop whining when you play with them"
Trading Adam Fox before his NMC kicks in because no other option to fix cap would be very dark, but is that their only out?
The team is not as good as they were last season and they're not as bad as they're playing this year. Rangers were getting caved in night in and night out last season and pulling out bs wins. There was no way that was going to happen again. If Kakko and Laf can't step it up this rebuild/retool whatever you want to call it is not going to work. Kakko and Laf have been mishandled but they can still fix their mistakes...I just don't see this organization capable of it.
I think we’re comparing different things here. Yes, he should outscore his xG, as that is based on the average league player.xG% is not reliable for the top players. They outscore their xG across the board by a lot. It's more useful as an aggregate for a team that for individual players who are far outside the norm. Let's take a look at 10 of the leading scorers in the league the last 3 years - excluding guys who play on the same team.
McDavid, Matthews, Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Kaprizov, Robertson, MacKinnon, Panarin, Guentzel, Kane.
They combined for 1,383 GF on 1,125 xGF. Every single one outscored their xG. You can say it is biased because of the fact that I picked out the top scorers who obviously accrued GF, and it is true, but they do it consistently. Crosby has outscored his xG in all but two years. Ovechkin in all but three years. McDavid in all but one year. Panarin in every year.
He didn’t even really nail the TDL because he couldn’t keep a first out of the deal for Copp. If it had been two seconds, that would have been nailing it. Having Brad Lambert around might be nice right now.Drury absolutely nailed the TDL last season.
Everything else has been average to dog shit.
They have given Brock Boeser permission to seek a trade, according to Elliotte Friedman last night. I don't see a fit for the Rangers.Canucks are looking to make moves. Is there a deal for Horvat that’s possible? Seems like the kind of guy you’d want to bring in, in this situation.
You don’t say….I'm starting to think we should have traded for Eichel after all.
I think another full rebuild is a pipe dream. I’m also not convinced it’s necessary. We have 3 elite “draft picks” (if you include Fox) in our lineup, along with other promising youth. I don’t think we need to blow anything up.Was thinking the same thing.
Trade Panarin, Mika, Trouba and CK
All of them
I'd trade Panarin with 50% retention. Open up the bidding war and cash in LARGE
I'm not at this point yet, but if the current stretch continues, it's something that needs to be considered. But with all the NTCs/NMCs, getting players to waive won't be easy and not many teams have cap space to add them. It would almost be a "I'll take your headaches if you'll take mine" type of deals. The Rangers need to rebuild again.
This. Open up cap space and have someone tamper with him behind the scenes. The trick is for Zegras not to sign an extension and demand to come here , duh
Depends what the return is. If whoever wins the first overall is willing to give me Bedard, I’ll listen. Not trading Shesterkin until I know he wants 8+ per year
No place like home for the holidays*lives in a warm área with a beach nearby* Yeah I want to go to NYC and freeze my Ass off over winter
Lol, exactly. We'd prob be in the same position right now(or worse)...except blaming it on EichelZibanejad 13 goals, 15 assists, 26 games
Eichel 13 goals, 16 assists, 26 games.
Yeah, I think I'm happy with the assets we didn't give up not to mention the cap disaster would've been even worse. And Eichel isn't exactly the poster boy for locker room leadership either.
