Speculation: Roster Building Thread II (2022-23): The Puck is Prepared to be Mounted

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The organization is under no requirement to give all of these people access. Sure, it could be spun into bad PR, but the majority of people would just tune in to listen to the answers from whoever was still granted access. It's a balancing act for the reporters of not pissing the organization off too much but then also trying to extract some information for readers/listeners

It has not only occurred to me, but I know that is the reason why they don't push. The difference is, I don't find that a valid excuse to be bad at/not do your job.

If asking the right questions, probing the right people and providing fans with valuable and insightful information is too dangerous, that's another indictment on the org and should, also, be exposed.

But, of course, this won't change at all. At the end of the day, at least Vince and Mollie ask questions. The rest of them just cobble together information based on other people's articles and various message boards.

Yeah but no one will care. People won't stop buying tickets bc the team cut a reporter out. People want the game entertainment and whatever content they can get. It would be death to the career of a sports reporter bc other teams wouldn't want them around either.

If they win the Bedard/Fantilli lottery, there's not going to be enough ice time for three young dynamic centers, and if they're going to lose Zegras in two years for nothing, may as well get some help to retool on the fly and get back in the playoffs. Panarin waives to be back with his butt buddy as does Trouba with Vatrano.

Rangers were 29% on faceoff wins tonight against the Senators. 29%. They have been outdrawn every game this season by the opposing team. It’s a recurring theme. They are horrible in the faceoff dots all season.

I can’t imagine any team that had the available cap space to absorb the remaining salary wouldn’t. Artemi seems to win a lot of board battles with his stick work and is a great puck handler. Panarin is one of the best passes in the league. Put a shooter on his line and he’s money in the bank.

I would find it hard to believe he would get the contract he has right now if he were a free agent. A lot of times that's how I like to judge value of a player based on the contract they have: if that same player was a UFA right now, what kind of contract would they get and what kind of cap hit. I don't believe that any team would be willing to pay a 31-year-old finesse play making winger 11.6 million a year, hell how many teams have 11.6 million in cap space?

lol they were above 50% on the season till a while ago. they were at 49.3 prior to yesterdays game. unless they are being outdrawn 49-51 every game your math is way off

For better or worse....that is very true as the Rangers have that position nailed down at the moment . I still say build from the back and we have a lot of work to do there even though we once thought we were as an organization D rich .....but now far from it .

The Devils allowed themselves to suck. We were too afraid of wasting the last years of a functional Chris Kreider to finish off our rebuild properly, which included either trading him or playing him lower in the lineup so Kakko, Laf, and Kravtsov could get unearned minutes so they could actually develop.

Kreider should have been traded for the Robertson and a first package. One of the biggest mistakes the team has ever made.

Pretty evident they need a top 6 F

Kane us the obvious regardless of what some think. He’s a top 20 scorer still

We don’t need a top 6, we need a middle 6 forward and better D.
And Kane isn’t getting his pp points on our team.
It would be an absolute waste of picks and prospects.
Filling depth is the better play, if Panarin can’t be an 12m player in the playoffs we’re not going anywhere.

Nah they can’t trust Laf or Kakko yet be honest
Can’t wait for them to breakout
Get Kane and the depth is way better

1st , Kravtsov, Jones on the table
Trotchek can go PP2
 
Hard to imagine that the Rangers biggest need at this point is another finesse player. I would hope Drury is targeting someone a bit tougher to play against than Patrick Kane.

I think we absolutely do need another skill player but I also think Patrick Kane pretty much sucks at this point.
