Gerard Gallant after a win: I can't change the lineup after a win, we played great.

Gerard Gallant after a horrendous loss: I can't change the lineup after that loss, we played great.

This coach is unbelievable. It's not even like the Rangers have been playing well but just getting unlucky like earlier in the season, they've been handily outplayed in almost every game since the Arizona game and this imbecile still refuses to put Kravtsov back in the lineup.

Benches the kid.

Team sucks.

“How am I supposed to get him into the lineup, I like the team and he’s only played six games.”

They did for sure....Gaborik as an example, Del Zotto etc. Torts team was mainly comprised of north south players, when that started changing it went south for him too otherwise he would never have left. The last 3 coaches have been preaching north south hockey, we have a bunch of east west players, maybe the coaches need to adjust to the team instead of the team adjusting to the coach.
Why bother having a coach then? Just roll em out.

at this point, when a Players coach allows them to do whatever they want, what is the point of having a coach? I find it weird that our past few coaches have had a major disconnect with the players.

just to schedule practices? where it's more of a free-skate anyway

That surgery comment is so disingenuous it makes me believe GG probably doesn't feel entirely confident that the front office agrees with his handling of Kravtsov. He's trying to build an additional layer of deniability in case Drury comes knocking. "But Chris, the kid just had surgery, I'm only looking out for his well being!"

Or is drury playing 4d chess and knowingly tanking with Gerard as coach to try to get one of the big three.
Occam's Razor - need to eliminate the simplest solution first, which is, Drury might just suck. How many years do we give him before that is a bonafide?

Has to be something behind the scenes that has Gallant pissed at Vitali.
or he just like Vesey and Goodrow in the top9 because he's playing dated hockey

Carpenter playing is more important than Kravtsov. Makes sense.

This. The kid has had attitude issues before & has shown a history of entitlement. Maybe his practice habits are lazy or he's sulking for being out of the lineup. Clearly he hasn't impressed anyone with his fitness levels or his ability to stay healthy. Fully expecting this kid to be elsewhere by the TDL.

With that said, it's pretty pathetic we don't even know if this kid has actual NHL ability & he's basically being written off by the coaches. Not a good look by anyone involved.

The kind of game that should get a coach fired.

It's not the coach. It's not the effort. This team is just not very good. We had the fantasy of Kravtsov and Kakko as our top 2 RWs. Firing the coach won't make them 50-80 point players.

The Rangers needed Laf-Chytil-Kakko to turn into a real second line. This was more a hope than a realistic projection. They needed Blais or Kravtsov to fit in on the Zib or Trochek line. That was just a fantasy. And even if all that happened, they still would've needed to acquire a top 6 winger and a defenseman at TDL.

The Rangers are at least 2 top wingers away from being good.

Even if Gallant likes everyone ahead of Kravtsov, he has bent over backwards to find games for his 7th defenseman and 2nd goalie. But he can’t find a single game for his 13th forward, especially when they are playing their worst hockey? Something is up behind the scenes.

Then he should be traded soon and hopefully we get an NHL player back in the deal.

Drury should have let this guy rot in the KHL. Why sign him if he isn't even going to play and when he does play he gets hurt.. My bet is that the Rangers see him as being soft and not tough enough to be an NHL player

I wouldn't play Krav either. He bailed on the team twice, clearly didn't work out all summer, can't stay healthy and when he has gotten into a game, the few times he made it the whole 60, he was a complete non factor.

Gallant is probably telling Drury to get him a real f***ing winger. Reaves is gone now. Attach Blais to whoever you get and you can't get someone worth it. I still like Vatrano for this team and Garland would be a great add. Their term is not a detriment, it's a benefit, so I don't want to hear that argument anymore. I see no cap crunch for this team at all.

He's doing standard protect your player to the press. There's not always an ulterior motives.

He also doesn't need plausible deniability, wtf lol.

I mean top 6 players with wheels arent cheap. We also dont really have a top of cap flexibility.
Which is why I’m pounding the table on trading Bread. He’s simply a luxury we can’t afford and I honestly don’t think he’s worth nearly his cap anymore given our other needs. Cut his mins and it either fires him up or he wants out. Win win

From the reporters he's always the first guy on the ice and last guy off the ice in practise, so I don't think so.
