None of the veterans players want to score a goal that gets their hands dirty, and the kids legit don’t know how to score.

Panarin is rabidly becoming a huge problem. His play has been unacceptable for the 2nd highest paid player in the NHL. Drury reportedly was upset about his play during our run last season, and I can’t imagine it’s gotten better. Moving him is going to become a storyline if we keep going down this path. He hasn’t been the same player since the Putin hit piece.

Gallant needs to get the ok to cut his minutes without being fired for it. Otherwise, he will keep throwing him out there hoping he “figures it out.”

Someone needs to call Gallant a cab and hire a coach like Trotz or Q who know how to whip skilled players into winners

How long do you think Panarin and his video game hockey will last under Trotz? He will become a 60p player like Barzal.

Although my hope is Panarin requests out, so maybe you’re onto something there.

80% or whatever (I'm not a 'math guy', but it's gotta be close) of teams which went deep in the 'final covid season' last year blow this year. So there, there's my solace.

If Panarin performed to his capabilities we might have won the Stanley Cup last year. He’s not the same player we signed in 2018

Nobody was beating the Avs last year. I just want the Rangers to be on a path to eventually be like them and our best chance is empowering these kids to see what we have. Use Bread’s nearly $12mm to support them, cause we’re going to sink or swim with them.

I would argue the Wilson bodyslam had a much greater effect than the Putin hit piece.

What would a rebuild even look like? Many of our players are signed to NMC and are paid big bucks as it is. The only guy who may realistically be tradable and fetch something worthwhile is Lindgren.

There will be no rebuild. The team is too in deep to do that. This team and players have to figure it out, which may involve a coaching change in the next 12 months

If things don’t come together in the next 18 months, I could see them retooling but no tear it down to the studs

Zero chance Dolan supports anything other than continuing to trade assets to go for it. Certainly he is not approving continual bottom 10 finishes like they just went through. The pain could be quite high and go on for years.

Guys want to be wanted. NMCs are more about having a say and not getting exiled to Arizona or Winnipeg.

I think you can keep Zib and Troubas upside is worth more than what he'd get at 8 million plus the dude you replace him with.

Kreider is a big time PP scorer, that will play. Panarin is a top 10 player if he's engaged, that will play. The problem is no one has money and even the shit teams are signing their kids off ELCs and RFA no arb to 8/64 contracts.

I’m thinking the same, but would go with Panarin as it frees up more cap and gives a prime PP position to a kid. Figure Kreider will just happen naturally as his NMC expires and then can get a better return.

This team is a serious Igor injury away from being in the Bedard sweepstakes and let’s be honest he’ll turn into Jason Krog cuz ya know we gotta have 4th line plugs teaching our kids about 2 way hockey.

The facts are unrelated because Hughes was never available, but the fact that Hughes has 34 goals and 78 points in his last 70 games and Kakko has 30 goals and 66 points total in 169 games definitely chaps my ass a good amount.

Mercer, Hischier, Zetterlund, Sharagovich, Bratt… f*** off.

Off the top of my head, probably moving a big contract like Kreider’s. Probably moving Lindgren.

Shifting some other pieces around, maybe like a Goodrow move

They have the ability to retool, it would just take the right partners and doing a good job at pro scouting

No he won't. Speed plays immediately in the league and Laf and Kakko didn't have it off the jump and Hughes and Stutzle did.

Those 2 will be better in their 26-31 years than the speedy midgets.

Bedard will be just fine even with Jed Ortmeyer and Tanner Glass. The whole we will ruin top draft picks thing is so f***ing weird. Like Ottawa and f***ing Winnipeg and Jerset have THE SECRET but somehow New York doesnt despite all of the organizations bring staffed with the same Canadians.

I shouldnt bother replying to a post like this but congrats to you for misconstruing the incredibly obvious point being made that we should lock up young talent before they cost a fortune. It was pretty straightforward. Nothing suggested this player = this player. It would be ideal to lock in guys like Chytil, K'Andre, Laf and Kakko before they command big money, a pretty simple point, so kudos to you.

I made the same point about Igor in the past because the potential was evident and got a similar reaction... "he's no Quick or Price".. nothing further needs to be said about how that looks now.
Snarky post aside I was actually giving you credit... not sure why you took it negatively

I will say that it's easy to lock up the young kids to cheap contracts when they're not that good...

The hard part is them eventually getting good.

I got roasted for saying Panarin would become a problem late last season.
You were one of the real ones with me on my lonely island.

Speed plays in November but strength plays in May. I think Kakko will be a more winning player than Hughes.

Tell us more about this chapped ass….

I don’t think Gallant will get canned this season. I think it’s a very real possibility if this team underperforms the rest of the way that he’d be on the hot seat in the summer

But for now he’s probably safe imo

Not saying that’s the right or wrong move but just a feeling
