Meier lol… if only we had a homegrown PPG two-way RW who was a lockerroom favorite. That trade will haunt us for eternity
This is a good reminder though. There is no room long-term for Meier. If there were, they’d have kept Buch (I would hope!).
The Rangers would be thinking of Meier as a rental, I believe and as such, should get easily outbid by a team that is willing/able to give Meier a longterm deal.

I mean all roads lead to Trouba, because our D depth is solid, and we’d be trading from a position of strength, but no one will take that albatross. We need a Gomez type trade, and it’s not going to happen. Trouba does nothing for us at this stage, our top 4 wouldn’t miss a beat with him gone.

But I do understand why folks want to move Artemi, it may actually be feasible and wouldn’t require black mailing the acquiring GM with extremely compromising material.
Been saying forever. Trouba stinks and he’s redundant.

More than half of them (hell almost ALL OF THEM) were literally him giving the puck to someone else and then them doing all the work or him giving the puck to someone who then gave the puck to someone else up who did most of the work.

I knew this was coming from you though lol. Stat lines don't mean everything (Panarin's wasn't that bad during our run last year either and he was flaming ass.) Even his lone goal wasn't even a puck he shot into the net, it literally bounced off of him and went in lol.

The playoffs weren't that long ago and anyone who watches remembers. Outside of like a game and a half he was a complete ghost.
Lol this is pure seethe and cope. Buch is elite end of story.

There’s not a damn thing wrong with Trocheck’s contract. He plays a 200 foot game, hits people, wins faceoffs and hits a ton of goalposts. When his shooting percentage increases, scoring will break out.

$10MM qualifying offer for next year
Cannot believe folks are giving Trocheck a hard time. He has been one of the real bright spots this season, in my humble opinion, at least.

I had a ton of inconvenient late night shifts during playoff games last year, but I don't have a good idea of how Panarin actually played since his two linemates had like two working legs between them, especially towards the end. Strome and Copp were both beat to shit

I agree to an extent but why is it always the linemates fault Panarin didn’t play his best?

Nah this is how the playoffs actually played out.

Hes a great regular season player who has been invisible in the playoffs. He wasn't Zuccarello bad, but he wasn't good either.

Also my previous post that you quoted was about him in last years playoffs, not his play as a blue overall just for clarity sake.

I think they can get him if they want him.

I don’t think they can keep him.
There's no way in hell. Millers up for an extension. Chytils up for an extension. Meier isn't signing anything that starts with a number smaller than 8.

Personally I wouldn't lose sleep over a trouba buyout at this point. His wearing the C sends that out the window, but I'd happily have 2.22nil less to work with for 6 years than try to build a winner with 8mil tied up in him over the next 3.

I still am fine with trading for Meier as a rental. The only way they’d ever go after him long term is if they think they can get out of Panarin or Trouba’s contracts early, in which case I’m all ears

IF we were to make a big trade during the season... It's 100% Chychrun. We have a plethora of kids at wing already and vets like Kreider who are not going anywhere. why am I trading assets for an expensive, yet good winger?

I'd rather add another Fox or KAM on the backend.... who are gamechangers and on the ice 25minutes a game. When KAM and Fox are going, we win. Bottom line. Our 'winning streak' started when KAM started playing well. What happens if we add a talent like Chychrun?

I'd rather have the greatest Defense (top6) than another good winger.

Vote for....

Chychrun Fox
KAM Schneider
Lindgren Trouba

Who and what would you have more confidence in succeeding here? A high profile forward or defenseman? Our entire system is predicated on our defense IMO. From transition to ozone time when it always ends up on a defenders stick.

It’s the same guy…dump Trouba…fire Gallant…Trocheck is a bum.

yada, yada, yada

Take Trouba out of the Rangers defense and you have a group with no depth and not enough sandpaper. How bright is that?

Would be a great pickup imo. But I'd hardly believe gallant would play him over blais.

He brings more speed so I think he would. He also draws penalties. He would be a solid underrated pickup. I’d offer a 4th or 5th for him. No goals so he will score before Blais lol

I also think Trouba is considered by the front office to be essential to the playoff roster. They’ll tolerate any deficiencies of his in the regular season. As long as he’s a difference-maker in the playoffs, he’s going nowhere.
I’d actually say the regular season is - as long as they make the playoffs - largely an afterthought. A pass-fail test.

Incredibly bright because you can replace what Trouba does for maybe half as much. Maybe less. Actually you probably have a better player than what he’s shown this year.

The front office is wrong then.

Replacing the player trouba is? or Replacing the player they want trouba to be (and was when he was healthier last year)

Trouba the player he is, is a 2-3 million dollar player.
Trouba the player they want, is a 6m dollar player.
