where does he fit?

not pressing you, obviously, just asking aloud.
2 choices
2nd line with AP and VK
Which moves trocheck down, and you end up with laf/trocheck/FC

or 3rd line
Laf/ROR/FC

The amount of depth is kinda rediculous.

The bigger issue is what would we be giving up? If its a first and blais, done.
But anything in our top 9 and we're actually hurting ourselves badly.

It never hurts to add center depth but he hasn't had a good year and is currently injured. I wouldn't do anything more than you said and even that may be too much.

He still has a 15 team NTC and then a 12 year NTC once is NmC runs out.

So trading him would still not be easy as we can only trade him to half the league basically.

And if a player is smart, he uses that NTC strategically. It also depends on the structure of the contract.

Does he provide the list at the start of the season? Does he provide the list when the GM asks for it? Or is the list set for the full length of the contract? Not sure what the exact phrasing in the contract is of course but all 3 of these scenarios exist in NHL contracts.

We are always looking for guys who won cups before but haven't done much since that time. Wonder if we're looking at Max Talbot and Andrew Shaw?

I hate it too, being a 4 time all star used to mean something, now everyone has to have a player there and John Scott gets voted in, why bother calling it an all star game. Just have an outdoor game with all the fan voted players and call it the Fans Classic.
Why do they still play All Star games? They're a waste of time and unwatchable. At least the NFL finally got rid of the Pro Bowl.

they got rid of asking the players to actually play a contact game. The NFL is so heavily dependant on timing and rhythm that the probowl was the least skilled display ever.

The NHL doesn't depend on that as much, and the all-star game can be fun. But its not the same hockey that people love.

The NA vs World games were at least better.

I like ROR a lot and always have, but TFP is throwing shit at a wall as usual.

Even taking that into account, I dont think center is a big enough need for us to beat prices that C needy teams like Toronto & Colorado will most likely pay for O'Reilly (and his pedigree).

Motte, Erne, Barbashev, Bjugstad, Domi are the type of guys we should be interested in at forward because they shouldnt cost more than a mid-round pick, and can hypothetically play in the middle 6 (or push guys up or down the lineup). A healthy Tarasenko is a tailor made fit for Panarin's other wing, but Im worried about injuries and the cost. STL would certainly be asking for Krav in that situation, but im not serving them a second Russian winger on a silver platter.

some all star games are very entertaining.

the nba is streetball at it's finest. the players do get serious near the end of the games to try and win for the higher payday.

nhl is cool as you get to see what kind of chemistry there might be on ice amongst players from different teams. for one day only you might get to see:

bread-matthews-kucherov
connor-mackiinon-mcdavid
svechnikov-barzal-pastrnak

I didn't realize what terrible metrics Goodrow has. wow.
IMO he could easily be traded despite his horrible metrics.... for the same reason we traded for him and signed him to a ludicrous contract
I know people advocate for a buyout but that's absolute last resort
Forget that crap, we can't afford to do that. Save it for somebody you REALLY want to get rid of. Down the road.
Many teams would take an overpriced Goodrow, he has a great reputation and many teams would LOVE what he does on the PK and in general.....all around play.
Might cost us a pick to go along with him, but prob better than $$$.

Rangers interested in ROR?
Give em' Sammy back and a 2nd rounder.

Move Chytil to RW

Kreider Zibs Kakko
Panarin Trocheck Kravtsov
Laffy ROR Chytil

maybe he'd learn from ROR
Chytil and ROR are very different players. Don’t want him trying to be ror, the Mika comparison is still very apt,

He can learn to play defense and learn how to excel playing simple greasy hockey
ROR is built differently. Hard to play the same style of hockey when you weigh 25 less lbs. chytil has actually been good defensively this year playing his own style of hockey and not that traditional Canadian dump it out defense. He’s excelling at puck takeaways using his speed, which ROR can’t do.
