And coaches have gotten fired for less. It’s part of the game, shake it off.
I don’t even understand the point of healthy scratching guys who aren’t close to the worst player in your lineup. Can’t you just like…communicate to them what you want them to do??? Last year Kakko said he didn’t even know he was being healthy scratched for ECF game 6 lmao. Grit simps will justify it with random buzzwords like “wake up call” “light a fire under him” “trying to push the right buttons” but really all it comes down to is a bunch of old farts with no answers other than to just piss the player off. Their mantra: if you aren’t playing well you just aren’t trying hard enough. Not that you or your teammates aren’t skilled enough or that the tactics aren’t up to par

Van fan coming in peace.

Do you guys think JT Miller would have put you guys over the top?

We really regret not taking the supposed Chytil, Lundqvist, 1st round deal.

Is there still a deal to be made for Miller?
You guys need a captain, right? We have a guy.

Don't hate sticking with this until they build chemistry, but I thought Kravy/Fil/Goat looked pretty good the other night.

I kinda like these lines but who the heck knows anymore! The coach doesn't stick with them and to also play devils advocate the kids aren't consistent. So really depend which side of the debate you're on.
At this point guys like Kravtsov need to score more than 3 points. Laf needs to have more than 5 goals.

Grit simps. I like it.

I don’t know even know how these prospects can achieve “consistency” when the coaches definition of consistency changes based on who you are and what you reputation is.

Gauthier last year: can’t finish, healthy scratch every night
Gauthier this year: gets less TOI than me, scores every single time he plays, waived and healthy scratched numerous times for Blais/Brodzinsky/Goodrow.

The reality is that there is nothing these young forwards can do to “earn” a spot other than be >27 years old or have a grit reputation like Schneider/Blais. They aren’t rewarded for a playing well, they aren’t even rewarded for actual production.

Im sure it’s very frustrating and demoralizing to play for coaches who are so results oriented and basically don’t notice anything unless the puck is in the back of the net. That’s how you get coaches saying Ben Harpur played a “solid” and “steady” game because Igor saved a tsunami of pucks launched at him

I have a question, unlikely scenari, I was just wondering, any way Othmann after his junior playoffs end, play for the Rangers in the playoffs like Kreider did in 2012?

He doesn't suck but he's a far cry from the MVP level player he was his first year here.
Not every player is good at every aspect of the game. Panarin is still an elite playmaker, one of the best in the entire NHL.

He has too many giveaways, which happens when you handle the puck a lot. He doesn’t shoot enough, and he doesn’t drive the net.

But why does he have to do all those things to be good in your mind? Just accept the player for what he is and mesh him with players that can complement his skill set.

There are very, very few elite complete players in the league. Very few.

A more than fair deal would be Blais and a 2nd for Miller.
No GM would be stupid enough to not accept that.

Because othmann would've come in after the trade deadline after our lines started to get rolling, and there really wasnt a spot for him at all.

Has nothing with your handle (I didn’t even noticed it). It is biased because your intro sentence says that kids are buried which is absolutely not the case. Further you said Gallant wants to Lafreniere to remove creativity from his game which is not the case either unless you think the youngster should stick-handle through opponents in his own zone or make risky plays trying to get out of zone. He needs to play responsibly which is not mutually exclusive from being creative when situations allow for it. There’s more about who earned / allowed for longer leash between different groups on the team but it’s been said here numerous times so I don’t feel like regurgitating it for you again.

This is why I called you biased.
The kids are being buried, they even signed a guy to a long term deal to be the 2c with Chytil already here, how does he get higher in the lineup, how does he get some pp time, more minutes, cus he's earned them. Lafreniere is a left winger, Gallant continues to say Kreider "prefers" the left side and he doesn't like Laf at RW. Except, when they put Panarin up on line 1 there's all of a sudden no problem with Kreider playing RW. Our PP has been abysmal of late, no change, don't bother even attempting to try a kid in one of those spots. How bad does the pp have to be for Laf, Kakko or Chytil to get a shot, or even just get some time on pp2 instead of running pp1 for the whole pp. Speaking of pp2, why the F is Trouba running that PP, seems to me we have a good power play guy in Hartford, which brings me to Jones, he is currently being replaced by Harpur, yes you read that right Harpur. They are buried, its not a bias, this team prefers veteran players no matter the skill level or their effectiveness.

Kreider debuted in the playoffs, I don’t see why Othmann cant either.
Peterborough's last game is March 25th. The Rangers' last game is April 13th. So it depends on how far Peterborough goes in the playoffs vs how far the Rangers go.

If they do sign Othmann for the end of the season I hope he immediately replaces Trocheck on PP1 to give it a different look
Today I learned that Othmann is a switch sticker. Is he the first? Pretty cool.

Only on HFBoards do people want the kid who plays for the Pete's to come in and on day 1 replace the guy who Mitch Giguere said is the key to his favorite PP in the league.

And he's not even a right handed stick!

Oo yeah because the rangers are known to give young players PP time

Kakko, laf, krav, and chytil all should stab gallant if that happens
It would be poetic if they brandished their left handed sticks as weapons because those things are utterly useless for the bumper spot on the PP.

I think Panarins decline is being overblown by a lot of people. Goodrow needs to be away from him permanently, don’t give a shit about his little heater he went on earlier this season. Guys like Hajek, Harpur, Goodrow are horrendous offensive players. It’s not just that they are bad but they kill offense for their teammates and we do not get chances whatsoever when any of those 3 are out there with our top 9. The second they put Panarin back with Goodrow he didn’t score for 20 games. GG thinks Goodrow is a good defensive player yet Goodrow+Panarin is our worst defensive line every night.

Absolutely agree calling the ‘decline’ is premature. But I actually think it’s pretty unfair to group Goodrow with those other guys. He’s better offensively than Fast, who I think is the correct comp. Not seeing the relevance of Harpur and Hajek to the Panarin talk but i agree, Panarin is still a potent force.
