Guys I wouldn't get too worked up about the numbers here. It would've been an issue if someone broke out like a superstar... we're working with 17.6 million in cap space this off-season , thats without any cap increase. You gotta figure a bridge deal for Chytil and K'Andre wont be more than 5 each. Looking at what Chytil and Kakko got, how much is Laf going to get ? The 3 main RFAs shouldn't cost more than 12 million if they bridge them, and that might be a little generous.. could be closer to 10. Bare minimum, should be at least 5 million to work with, plus whatever the cap increases by. They'll have 8 guys set in the top 9, 5 guys set on defense. Need a back up goalie. Main roles are set, the open spots will be cheap to fill. If they keep Blais, Gauthier, Hajek and/or Kravstov theyre not getting raises. Brodz has been good in a 4th line role, he's got another year. Vesey has been fine, he was signed on a minimum deal. Hopefully Drury doesn't turn around and re-sign him for too much money. Those guys are available every off-season. Corey Perry has spent the last few years as a solid, cheap bottom 6 player. Same thing for Spezza in Toronto before he retired. Mark Giordano makes 800k a year now. Effective bottom line players are available for cheap
