So much cap hell ... STL and Buffalo will have to buy out Likely after arbitration cases
What’s St. Louis’s cap hell? They have 5 mill in space and two RFAs to sign. More than enough.

Not only this, but they lack any real buyout candidates. Their only two contracts that weren’t instrumental in the Cup run are Steen and Allen. Both under 6 mill for 2 years. Allen isn’t a starting goaltender, but Steen could’ve been having an off year.

I think @Ola mentioned him before, but if we're looking at a young player from Minnesota besides Fiala, I'd want JEE. He had great rate stats in a limited role for most of the year, and then got promoted into the top-6 towards the end of the year. He seems like a pretty solid candidate to break out if he can continue to drive chances and possession the way he's played. Kunin is another one I was a huge fan of in his draft year, but I can't see MIN dealing him.

Me neither. He along with Fiala and Greenway are going to be part their future.
Go hard after Kaprizov... this is where the depth at LD comes in.

Skimming some of the aforementioned content ... this still a “roster building” thread? good gracious, the train is off the tracks.

Please, someone insert some critical filler about how some B level writer from New Canaan will miss Shattenkirk’s gracious quote following a 4-1 L.

In all seriousness, Shattenkirk was relatable to the crowd as a local, upper/middle class guy that they wanted to have a beer with. I suppose that makes him such a good guy (yawn). Addition by subtraction for the toilet man 22.

Greenway ain’t it for Kreider IMO. Would need Kunin or JEE. Not with high picks or anything, just like JEE and maybe some small salary for Kreider.

I never knew the Knicks and Rangers had the McKinsey consulting firm working with them, though it's probably not too weird in the sports industry. Article says there were problems with the Knicks, but there are always problems with the Knicks.

“This is broken”

/spends a year billing, drawing 500 industry standard process flows

“You should do this”

Greenway>>>JEE

JEE is similar to Lias and Howden as well. Great mold of player to have but it’s a bit redundant

Kreider + a prospect for Kaprisov? That's not far off. I doubt Minnesota would do the two straight up. Might depend on how much they believe in their team to win now.

Minnesota isn’t trading Kaprizov unless they know he won’t sign with them or it’s in a package for someone with term.

If it’s the former, we’re not adding to kreider or even including him most likely, he’d essentially get to pick his spot.

Florida could really use Kreider, but I don't think they can fit him even if we retain 50%. They only have 10 forwards signed and limited cap space.

I mean they have 8 Dmen on their roster according to Cap Friendly, so something has to give there. Could probably include Psysk while retaining $2MM on Kreider. Would be a net wash to their roster as well as the Rangers. Panthers would still have $2.5MM in space with 11 forward, 7D and 2 goalies. Psysk could be a #7 or 3rd pair RD if Fox isn't ready.

Obviously there would be other solid assets coming back to the Rangers in addition to Psysk.
