I think they're retooling, not rebuilding.

Trade Zucc and Nash for more first round picks then. Keep and use the 7th and the 21st.

I think the truth is nobody knows what the hell their plan is right now. This move could be just as consistent with the "win now" approach, a retool or a rebuild. Need to see how it shakes out.

No. They need defensemen. Stop trying to trade for MacKinnon. It's not happening girl.

I don't agree that we need defensemen more than we need top line forwards.

Shattenkirk, McDonagh, Skjei and Smith is a good top 4.

We need a scoring #1 forward.

Trade Nash
Sign Shatty
Resign smith
Package for Galchenyuk
Sign Radulov (or Oshie if he can't find a deal with Washington, much prefer Oshie)

Can't remember where I read it, but someone said Radulov wants 7 million a year.

Edit: Just found it:

Trade Nash
Sign Shatty
Resign smith

Sign Radulov (or Oshie if he can't find a deal with Washington, much prefer Oshie)

Radulov wants 6 mil per for 7 years. You want to pay him that until he is 37? No thanks.

Only thing that's making me happy about this is that many draft experts feel the 7th pick can be as good as the top pick. Draft is more deep than top heavy.

I didn't say we didn't need forwards. I said Colorado needs defensemen and we can't afford to trade Skjei+ for MacKinnon.

Random but trading with Arizona reminded me that we didn't lose that Yandle deal as badly as we thought lol.. Duclair is not looking good at all.

Pettersson at 7, Andersson at 21. Heard lots of people say either could drop.

I'd be happy with that.

Re-sign Smith
Sign Shattenkirk
Trade Holden
Klein Retires
Trade Hayes, 21st OA, 2nd round '18, Gropp for Mackinnon
Sign Thornton to 35+ contract and start him on IR
Sign Boyle

But eventually:

Kreider-Zib-Buch
Nash-Thornton-Zucc
Miller-Mackinnon-Vesey
Fast-Boyle-Grabner
Nieves

Mac-Shatty
Skjei-Smith
Staal-DeAngelo
Bereglazov
Graves
Pionk

Hank
Kinkaid

:handclap::handclap::yo::popcorn:

The next moves should be:

Trade Nash @50% retained
Trade Zucc
Trade Grabner

Depending on how those trades work out, consider trading McDonagh.

How is it we give up what two first round picks for an aged St. Louis and two high picks and one of our best prospects for yandle yet we get one pick back for two players?
Are we allergic to asking for picks? Wtf? Make them send a couple of seconds back as well

It's actually absurd when you break it down like that. NYR management is completely inept.
