But he cant.

Most didn't think he would be more than a 3rd liner. Lets see if he can improve at the position.

Its not like he's incapable of it. He's relatively good defensively, good on draws, big body, he theoretically should be able to.

Might take some improvement though.

**** it trade everyone for firsts, let's just go for broke. Blow it up. Then we can draft everyone's favorite prospect to be who will bust.

This trade only makes sense if another C trade is coming. I am not convinced that any center they draft at 7 can play in the NHL this year

So I guess we wait

i really need to take Stepan's advice right now and relax, because I'm really not liking the value we got from this trade.

our center depth opening night is?

1. Nieves
2. Zbad
3. Hayes
4. Hayes again?

Long way to opening night. We have a lot of cap space. Plenty of additional moves will be made.

funny huh...

hank basically wanted torts gone

step giving hank a hard time during playoffs

seeing a trend here

The trade had nothing to do with Henrik. Gorton and co. are very worried that Stepan is declining already. They wanted to move him before the NTC kicks in. THey almost moved him last summer. They even listened to offers for him at the trade deadline this year.

That would be the most Rangers thing ever

Although, I wouldn't hate Thornton on a 1 year deal.

You're basically signing him for half a season with his injury recovery and age.

Hard pass. Might as well look at Gagner if you can't find a trade partner.

People really like this move for the Rangers

But if we go out and resign Smith and Shattenkirk for big money is this really a rebuild?

Just worried the Rangers get stuck half-in, half-out like they always seem to do. If you're going to do the rebuild then do it right, all the way.
