He was but he is much better than 18. 18 does not have an OZ of offensive ability left, flails his stick at everything then we gotta hear Sam and Joe talk about the "long reach" and he cannot skate. Skates like a kid trying to break in a new pair of roller hockey skates.

I totally agree and wish we could get rid of Staal somehow but knowing AV, he would be in the lineup over Holden.

I'm still upset because Stepan is one of my favorite Rangers, but if I try to be objective about this, we're adding much needed talent and still have good depth. I still think there's a bigger move out there, but for now we should be looking good 2 years down the road.

Of that's the case trade Nash and zucc

Nothing to do with Staal. Holden sucks. Staal sucking has nothing to do with Holden simply sucking as well. It's not because Staal is anchoring Holden. Holden genuinely sucks.

He is gonna be a bottom pair d man and he will be fine. AV overused him. Had 31 points. The guy doesn't suck lol.

If this team is adding all these picks and going younger then there really is no reason to have Nash or Zucc here anymore.

I have said it in other threads and I still stick by my belief that this team is not capable of rebuilding or retooling. Occam's razor, given this franchise's history, is to see this as a cap clearing effort just as much as anything else. I think this move is about ensuring Shattenkirk to NYR. Wouldn't be surprised to see them fill the gaps up front with Thornton or Marleau. Also wouldn't be surprised to see one of, if not both, of those picks get flipped.
