They should make a video game simulator for this expansion draft. Would play. I think this would be a lot of fun for McPhee if his livelihood didn't depend on his results and the assets he was shuffling around didn't also have faces and families.

Yeah, I don't get why GM just didn't take Dumba and Manson, and then flip them elsewhere if he wanted prospects.

He would get better prospects than theo or Tuch in return.

And to top it all off, Tuch was Minny's worst prospect out of Kunin, Kaprizov and Erik Karlsson Ek. At least get one of those guys.
 
If I'm just interested in seeing how expansion dust settles, should I wait another week to tune in?
 
Seem like Vegas would at least get more picks out of those deals. GMs may not want to lose players, or even top prospects but Vegas does not seem to be getting full value out of allowing those teams to keep both their best players and best prospects.
 
And if Nash is off to CHI with Hossa out of the picture, give me Nick Schmaltz. He would be perfect for us.

Played some C at the end when Anisimov got hurt and excelled next to Kane. And Toews had his most produtive streches this season with Schmaltz on his wing.

Vegas is being handed a good team by this draft process. They don't have to agree to any deal. They are either getting a good player or a 1st round pick.. THEIR choice. They are being treated as well as any expansion team, to the extent where it's actually unfair to the other teams, IMO.

Don't know why you feel they are being pressured to agree to any deal they don't want to agree to? Sather is one of the biggest old boys of them all, if Vegas is scared to say no then he better get on the phone to save Grabner/Lindberg/Fast.

Quite frankly, I am mad as hell that we are going to lose a quality guy while the Penguins are losing a guy they don't need and would want to trade anyway. Seriously, why is Vegas taking MAF?

Yeah, agreed. No need to feel bad for them at all, they're making an absolute killing for a new team.

And they're 100% free not to make deals and to take the best non proctected player, seems like they just decided to focus on the long game and stockpile futures.

I still can't believe there's a team in Vegas of all places though. Still seems beyond stupid to me.

Yeah EA should have made a little patch for NHL 17 with this. Of course that would require them to do work to improve a game they've already sold, and that's never going to happen.
