How many times can Nash and Anisimov be a part of the same trade!?!?!
Trying to beat the Lupul/Pronger/Sbisa record
How many times can Nash and Anisimov be a part of the same trade!?!?!
Vegas is being handed a good team by this draft process. They don't have to agree to any deal. They are either getting a good player or a 1st round pick.. THEIR choice. They are being treated as well as any expansion team, to the extent where it's actually unfair to the other teams, IMO.
Don't know why you feel they are being pressured to agree to any deal they don't want to agree to? Sather is one of the biggest old boys of them all, if Vegas is scared to say no then he better get on the phone to save Grabner/Lindberg/Fast.
Quite frankly, I am mad as hell that we are going to lose a quality guy while the Penguins are losing a guy they don't need and would want to trade anyway. Seriously, why is Vegas taking MAF?
Vegas.. I called it yesterday I said they'd have better prospect system than us in 2 years

This thread was flooded for days with lots of posters saying GMGM won't take guys other GMs dont want him to take, and he can't burn bridges. My point was only that if other GMs are considering him taking anyone on the expansion list as burning a bridge, that's an absolute joke.
Now, as more details come out, everyone is saying GMGM is a genius and he had them all along.
I haven't kept up with Vegas in real time, because its way too drawn out for me, but I guess in the end they're getting a fair deal?

Vegas had Pittsburgh give them a draft pick to take Fleury off their hands. Damn.
I think people meant that if GMGM agreed to the handshake deal to not take X player in return for a pick or whatever then he wouldn't go against his word and take the player anyway since it would burn a bridge.

I can't believe that Anaheim and Minny got away with losing none of their stud defensemen.
And Tippett being on the outs in Zona pretty much kills the Stepan deal.
All indications are we haven't made a deal. We didn't have the nightmare situation some other teams had. It'll suck losing one of those 4 players, but the cost to steer them towards puemple would probably outweigh the player we lose instead.
List of players that could take over Lindberg's 4C duties without the Rangers missing a beat:
Nieves (seriously)
B. Boyle
Johnny Malkin
Gagner
Desharnais
Losing Lindberg is a blip on the radar. Same with Fast. Same with Raanta. Same with Grabner.
Rangers so nice for expansion this was probably such a nice, stress free week for GMJG. Just casually fielding calls on Stepan and repeatedly being like: "Nah, more, I don't have to deal him".
Must be nice.
what could the flyers be trying to protect?

I don't think VGK moving up to 2 has anything to do with Philly protecting someone. I think it has more to do with VGK moving up using the abundance of picks/prospects they are receiving and then flipping those to move up.
I think VGK takes on MacDonald and they swap 1sts.
Philly is probably petrified of Patrick's injuries too.
I agree, I thought they should get more, but I am a bit taken back whenever I hear anyone refer to Vegas as any team's rival alreadyTheodore is not enough to lay off Vat and Manson and take Stoner. And help out a rival. And I say that as a big Theodore fan. This one smells.
