I'm with Uncle Larry on this whole draft process (and I hardly ever agree with him) being an absolute farce.

Vegas paid almost $20m to each team to enter the league. They should be able to take whoever they want, with no pressure from teams or the league.

So every team took their money and agreed to the draft parameters, but are now playing the "you're not really gonna take Manson though - we'll give you this other pick" and Vegas is almost forced to do it, b/c they can't risk not playing the old boys network game.

We'll see what comes out, but the rumored trades do not seem to be better values than the players not picked. If they've decided that acquiring as many picks as possible is their best path to winning - so be it. But if they're doing this because unwritten rules say you can offend Bob Murray by taking his exposed young dman - F that. That's a joke.

Vegas is being handed a good team by this draft process. They don't have to agree to any deal. They are either getting a good player or a 1st round pick.. THEIR choice. They are being treated as well as any expansion team, to the extent where it's actually unfair to the other teams, IMO.

Don't know why you feel they are being pressured to agree to any deal they don't want to agree to? Sather is one of the biggest old boys of them all, if Vegas is scared to say no then he better get on the phone to save Grabner/Lindberg/Fast.

Quite frankly, I am mad as hell that we are going to lose a quality guy while the Penguins are losing a guy they don't need and would want to trade anyway. Seriously, why is Vegas taking MAF?

After what he showed in postseason and for Sweden in WCH, do not you think Lindberg may possibly have Top6 complimenary player upside?

I felt he had that upside after his stellar performance in Sweden a few years ago. Lindberg could be a late bloomer who grows into a 3rd or even 2nd line center role

Sounds like Pittsburgh is paying them to take Fleury. How much? I don't know.

The idea that McPhee is feeling like he has to make these deals is crazy.. he's a veteran gm. He isn't going to be forced into anything. He's taking these deals because he knows he won't be good enough to compete for a while so why waste these guys prime when you have the other gm by the balls and can collect picks and build through the draft

Whats the deal here? Sounds like rumors are saying Raanta? But others in the thread are saying its Lindberg? But I don't see any actual rumor posted..

Vegas actually got a little hosed imo since this draft class is so weak... a year earlier or later and all those pics could bring a haul.

I guess there's still a chance that could be true.

Time will tell I suppose

Tuch and Theodore is quite the nice get for GMGM so far. He isn't messing around.

Edit: and apparently Nico/Nolan now too. Damn son.

I wonder if there is a deal to be made with Chicago involving Nash and Anisimov, especially with the Hossa news.

true but that also assumes the picks are all this year...i think someone posted a tweet that these picks are over the next 3 drafts.
