Didnt NYR receive 20 million dollars from Vegas to enter the league.

Not exactly a terrible return for Lindberg. Plus the market grows, everyone wins.

Hockey grows, more fan fare, more jobs created, **** this league!

Tough break losing Oscar but thats the price for expansion. We could have kept him for a draft pick. Other teams lost out as well. I wish Oscar luck. In HF tradition Id like to get him back soon. :)

What the **** does money do for the fans?! And tell my why a league with stagnant revenue over the last three years decides it needs another team to bleed money in a desert?

because vegas gave the league hundreds of millions of dollars to get in

I guess that's for their escrow acount so when the novelty wears off in two or three years the league can give them their money back until it becomes a net loss, and every team still will have given up an asset for nothing!

Im loving how a couple people are furious about Lindberg and some are like yea it was bound to happen...

First time ive seen the board weirdly polarized

My position would be the same regardless of whom they took. The league is too big already and parity has sapped the life of the game.

Seravalli and a lot of people outside of NYR doesn't understand the value of Lindberg and assumed they were incentivized to Oscar over Raanta.

Schlemko and Miller are good picks

I don't see any reason why Vegas should try to be good for the first couple years. Load up on picks and prospects

Other than building a brand in a weak tv market that no doubt will rely on selling tickets. I mean, what's the urgency when football is only a few years away taking up all the attention?

I thought they would try to make the playoffs right out of the gate. Come roaring out of the gate with a solid defense and goaltending. Flip the extra 7 players for decent forwards and prospects. They would have had a shot of being relevant before the raiders show up and make hockey an after thought until February.

Big deal we lost a 4th line center. Other teams are losing impact players or first round picks to not do so.

A lot of them also unloaded a ton of terrible players for the 1st round picks. The Islanders are going to have the cap space now to target a sought after top 6 player to surround Tavares with which may lead to Tavares being more inclined to stay.
