I think the only thing it does is make it 100% necessary that they're getting an NHL ready center back for Stepan.

Sucks to loose a player but i never bought into the Lindberg hype. Im glad we didn't lose fast. We can just have Hrivik play 4C now. Barring a trade Lindberg was never going to play in the top 9.

A player they can grow with or flip for good value after giving him a more prominent role in which to shine.

With him gone, we can't trade Stepan without picking up a solid 3rd line center. Opens a bigger hole to be filled. Grabner and Fast were way more replaceable.
