Man, I would've paid Vegas to take CDH from the Isles.

I wonder if any teams made deals like that.

Fast doesn't make sense to me because of the injury. I expect it to be Oscar, which really sucks. He escaped from the desert in the Werek deal...and now he might be going back.

Grabner is a possibility if Vegas wants to flip players at the deadline, especially if they're getting/taking younger players from other teams. There needs to be some veteran presence.

I don't think that this team would make the playoffs without Grabner this last season. He was a speedy beast.

Are we allowed to trade for our player back? If it is Lindberg or Fast, I give them our 1st round pick and Raanta for them to take Staal off our hands and we get to keep our guy.

The one thing we have going for us is our offensive depth, losing one of Lindberg or Fast is a pretty big blow.

It is a hefty price, but getting rid of Staal would be my #1 priority. Of course he would have to waive. Get down on your knees and beg, Gordon.

These leaks are ridiculous.

Bellemare from Philly? Not Raanta? Rando from Detroit?

What is McPhee doing?

Dealing for futures. Not a bad move, but Shipachyov might not be too happy when he learns what will be around him.

Could also make for an interesting post-draft day as teams scramble to clear cap. GMGM...with the fans' interest at heart.

I wouldn't trade them a pick to keep Raanta. He's valuable, but if you trade him for a late 1st or a 2nd, it's a pointless lateral move (at best).

I don't think they can return the player to that team until at least one season has passed or something of that sort. Or am I thinking of buyouts?

In Gorton we trust.

Well, for many teams, we know he's got side deals, so again, you have to look at the [value of player selected + trade] vs. [value of player not selected]. You also have to consider what secondary deals he may have with the players/picks he's about to obtain. Doesn't really make sense to question GMGM until after the dust has settled.

As for Raanta, my guess is that he isn't going with the 7-goalie strategy. He probably has his starter (MAF), his backup (Berube), and one or two others and doesn't need Raanta.

Or maybe the Rangers made a deal to protect him?
