Do the rangers even have a goalie to expose if they moved Raanta? Did they extend Skpaski?

Way ahead of you. Most of it is a bunch of speculation or others jumping on information already posted in papers or on twitter.
In the past few years, trading for the 7th OA lands us an elite player. This draft is just so... ehh. As I said, awful timing.
So now we know the Rangers aren't talking with the Ducks.
Skapski is eligible.
Vatanen probably.
No one is saying trade Stepan for the #7 straight up!
I think its time we start to question these insiders "credibility" because this is two straight seasons of hyped movements and yet the bare minimum happens.
Then what's the point in trading Stepan?
By the way, my impression was that most of the activity would be after the expansion draft rather than before it, as teams try to fill holes created by the players Vegas took. The only deals I expected today were teams trying to square away exposure issues.
All these guys are reporting is which names are being talked about. That doesn't mean a deal is 100% going to happen for those players.
Then what's the point in trading Stepan?
Anyone can throw **** against the wall. Eventually something will stick.
You get back a legitimate defenseman, or a first rounder plus a young cost-controlled center. Opening up that cap space, in addition to Girardi + Klein, also allows for the Rangers to look at signing Shattenkirk + Smith.
If #7 was going to be the centerpiece for a stepan trade, it was always going to take place at the draft.
