Do the rangers even have a goalie to expose if they moved Raanta? Did they extend Skpaski?

If you move Raanta to Zona, we take Johnson back. Sign him, expose him, Vegas isn't taking him, and then we move ahead with him as our backup. He is more than capable.

Way ahead of you. Most of it is a bunch of speculation or others jumping on information already posted in papers or on twitter.

By the way, my impression was that most of the activity would be after the expansion draft rather than before it, as teams try to fill holes created by the players Vegas took. The only deals I expected today were teams trying to square away exposure issues.

People are also acting like AZ is the only team involved. Bobby Mac said "multiple" teams are interested in Stepan, we wouldn't settle for AZ then

I think its time we start to question these insiders "credibility" because this is two straight seasons of hyped movements and yet the bare minimum happens.

All these guys are reporting is which names are being talked about. That doesn't mean a deal is 100% going to happen for those players.

Then what's the point in trading Stepan?

If you get Strome, Dubois or Galchenyuk back then you have a shot at developing a legit top line center.

Either way, I'd rather start trying to take my chances on doing whatever it takes to find our franchise center as opposed to running in circles.

Well you are 10 minutes away from being right :)

If #7 was going to be the centerpiece for a stepan trade, it was always going to take place at the draft.

You get back a legitimate defenseman, or a first rounder plus a young cost-controlled center. Opening up that cap space, in addition to Girardi + Klein, also allows for the Rangers to look at signing Shattenkirk + Smith.

No one has inside information during a time like this when everything is so guarded. There's a general idea of who is being traded and talked about. GMs will tell that much but as far as the level of seriousness, the parts involved, the likelihood of a trade, the dynamics of the negotiations and what each side is asking for and is wiling to part with, it's all a guessing game.

Not that Stepan is great, but I think he's being vastly underrated by fans here..

The Rangers took the Kings to 3 overtime losses in the SCF with Stepan as their #1 center, and also made 2 ECF..

No they didn't win the cup, but you really can't get much closer.

They can already do that with Klein retiring (if that's true) and the Girardi buy out and the cap going up a bit.
