If it's anyone other than Lindberg or Fast it will be a miracle.

The one silver lining is what Raanta could command from Arizona. They protected Johnson (ufa) and exposed domingue. If he's taken by Vegas they may not have a goalie. I don't think fast or lindberg would get us the 23rd or 35th pick.

But at the same time we don't easily replace either player and to say you have a 50% chance of getting a fast at that place in the draft is probably very optimistic.

He's not Girardi and those side deals don't really make sense. Why would they rather have a late first than Manson or Sami or Dumba all those guys would go for more than that.

Yeah. I'm pretty fascinated to see what exactly Anaheim pays LVGK to not select Vat or Manson.

If Vegas decided not to make any side deals and just draft a team, their defense could be a top-D in the league. Couple that with good goalies like MAF or Mrazek.... if Vegas straight up just drafts a team, they could make the playoffs next year.

Yes. The option was 8-1, as in 8 skaters regardless of f or d.

They have two very divergent options. Playoffs or ahl team plus close to 50 picks in the next two seasons. They have to grow a brand in Vegas and the playoffs could carve out that foothold before the raiders show up.

Better be a ****ing ransom. Especially from the Ducks. Why should McPhee do any favors to a division rival?

If I'm McPhee, I'm telling the Ducks to give me an asset and I'm taking Vatanen, otherwise I'm taking Manson. No chance in hell I don't take either, unless again of course, I get paid a ransom to select Kerdiles, or some ****.

They really have no reason to do either of those teams a solid, which is why I don't understand the whole "pre expansion draft agreement" stuff.

They aren't obligated to uphold that and they'd be dumb not to sniff around and see what they can get for players have been exposed by the Ducks, Wild and Isles.

if i'm NYI, i'd rather them take Strome. have young kids in the pipeline, and if they really are that hot on Eberle, he fills in the immediate gap left.

don't understand why they exposed CDH though. just stupid. the defense that Vegas can/should build would prove to be competitive. think they take Karl Alzner, for sure.

Loved him but it was a one year fluke. Rather not lose Fast or Lindberg over him. And REALLY hope they leave Raanta alone so we can trade him to ARZ.

People are gonna see how much this team needs his speed when he is gone. Happened with Hagelin too. I would be hoping VGK selects Raanta at this point. Gorton should have dealt him already for assets.

Agree. Grabner's speed and PKing was something we lacked after losing Hags.

Going by the recent-most trades of 25-ish centers, I'd say Stepan is worth two prospects and a pick.

People are going to point to Stepan's point totals, but only 29 centers produced more at 5v5 than he did, and his 5v5 p/60 was higher than Duchene's.

Arizona wont move Keller, Dvorak or Perlini. Duclair regressed, Crouse and Strome didn't show much considering the strength and production of the 2015 lottery picks. Fischer is a stud and likely on the top of a lot of request lists. Merkley is nothing special. Looke is OK.

A good move IMO would be Fischer, Kudla/Hickey and #23. Very similar to the RoR trade
