Rangers can build like an entire defense out of this hopefully Gorton can get something done. Manson/Hamhuis/Demers/Miller/De Haan/Dumba all well available for the taking this is their opportunity.
 
Seems like some teams aren't using their full allocation. Am I missing something or does SBNation suck when it's comes to sports reporting?
 
Eric Staal being exposed brings up an interesting dilemma for JG. Would you rather LV take Staal (in hope we can send them Marc) or Dumba (in hope we can cut a deal for him)?

VGK has said they want to be competitive this season. GMGM could build a pretty good team with the available players and by demanding ridiculous ransoms from some of these teams.

Scandella! There has to be a deal in minny and Anaheim. I think people will be disappointed in who Vegas ultimately takes. It will be an ahl team with a load of futures.
 
Not surprised by the protection list. Holden can still be dealt at the draft.

Now, re-sign Smith after the expansion draft and we're gucci.
 
See i don't think it's a good idea to try to swing a deal for a Manson because your bidding against potentially 29 teams which would drive up the price.

So if your offering Stepan it diminishes his return. Just my opinion.

We're not sending Staal anywhere. He has a family, he's not going to waive, we didn't ask him to waive.

There's a glut of goalies. Not much hostage potential.

He's not Girardi not even close. He's led his team in CF%Rel the last two years. And those side deals don't really make sense. Why would they rather have a late first than Manson or Sami or Dumba all those guys would go for more than that.
 
So the islanders have 5 defenseman protected..... is that allowed?

Thought it was 7 and 3 or 4 and 4
