Hopefully we can get a good fix on Graves's value this season like we did with Brady. I'd like to see a pingu ripping one timer on this Rangers team for the first time in my life.

Would like to see Graves as a 6/7th next season, 100+ mph slapper would be nice to see on this team.

I don't think you can determine that. Completely depends on the player Galchenyuk turns into. At the moment, I'd say the Brassard trade would be a better deal, but Galchenyuks ceiling is a bit higher than Zibanejad, although I value the two similarly. Stepan's value is higher than Brassard, meaning the addition to Galchenyuk would need to be greater than the second in the Brassard deal. I expect a first, maybe more if this happens.

A Stepan for Galchenyuk move leaves a lot to be desired defensively up the middle, so like you said it should come with a big +. Run the bolded by Habs fans, good luck :thumbu:

I almost want a trade of Stepan for Galy+ to go down just to see Habs fans again eat **** on their overvalued players

I have to go take a test tomorrow and the last time I took a test, the Rangers signed Pionk

So something for sure is going to happen tomorrow

I'm fairly sure that any Stepan trade starts with a young center as a piece. Minnesota and Arizona can do that. Vegas might be able to depending on who is exposed in the expansion draft. Ryan Strome or Calle Jarnkrok?

Minnesota can easily add a quality defense piece and Vegas might also be able to do this. Arizona doesn't have the defense piece but has other young forwards to add. Both have draft choices.

I wouldn't want Stepan in our division. That eliminates Carolina.

I'm not sure I see anyone else in the game.

Reading the Arizona board of them discussing Stepan gave me an aneurysm

Yeah... Before Girardi was bought out they thought we would package him with Stepan and they would pay almost nothing to get them. I almost vomited.

Had you heard anything last summer about Stepan to the Wild for Dumba and Coyle?

That was something I read was apparently on the table last summer, but the Rangers pulled out

Also I haven't seen anything on Skapski

It's still odd to think about trading Step. The Brassard trade was a bomb shell too. A lot of Sather's off seasons were about signing one big contract and bringing in an UFA plus depth signings and keep everyone intact and try again next season. Gorton is much much more active.

Islanders are definitely targeting all the forwards that are available. In hot on Eberle and the de facto front runner on Duchene.

Curious if anyone has seen anything about MacKenzie Skapski. The Rangers would need to qualify him if they should trade Raanta.

I would think they let skapski go w others G prospects . I also think they rather have Raanta go to Vegas not Fast or Lindberg

Watch this all be a smoke screen around Stepan and then Gorton drops the hammer on us and trades Kreider

That was a great trade as well. Chychrun dropped and he grabbed him. That was a good pick

my current best strategy for us re DS is
21OA + Raanta for 16OA
16OA + Stepan for 7OA + Chychrun

Last desperate gasp of a Stepan lover:shakehead:shakehead:shakehead
Kreider is our best F AINEC:shakehead
Kreider you do not trade; you sacrifice others to add to Kreider
:help::rant::help:

I think the return for Kreider will be similar to that of Stepan.
Kreider would get a lot more.
But we are keeping him, so moot:yo::yo::yo::handclap::handclap::handclap:

I don't get why so many in here want to use Raanta + #21 to move up in the draft, we need to add picks not move up in a draft where every prospect in the 5-25 range is interchangeable pretty much.

Use Raanta to add picks, not to trade up... In general trading up is bad value, very few circumstances where it's good to trade up.

Trade Raanta for picks/prospects and trade down from #21 unless we get a dropper that's very high up our list available at #21.

So much logical thinking missing from these boards :D

What would everyone's opinion be of Jason Demers? $4.5m for 4 more years. RD. Really a top-4 guy who moves the puck pretty well. I would compare him to Brendan Smith.

If the Rangers weren't in love with trying to outbid everyone for Shattenkirk and thought they could roll out Smith, Demers, McDonagh and Skjei as their top-4 would anyone be opposed? That would be an inexpensive top-4 group.

Demers isn't that comparable to Smith imo, he drives offense much better. Well, i guess they're comparable if you just say that Demers is a better version of Smith in every way :P

I'd be happy with Demers if a package around Hayes or Miller is enough (note a trend? lol) :D

I haven't seen Tanev play so I can't get into value, guess that's where some of you can come in. Vancouver wants a young center back, if they would take Hayes that would work as far as positional moves. Then, assuming Lindberg isn't taken by Vegas, he can slot into the 3rd line center. Keep Stepan unless you have a 1st line center coming in.

edit: in fact, we have the open protection slot on d. Moving out Hayes opens the slot for Lindberg or Fast.
