I do not know if I can totally agree with that. Many nights I was the fastest guy on my team but other nights I felt like I was wearing cement in my skates. Some nights guys have great legs. Some nights they dont.

Derek Stepan is incapable of skating like Connor McDavid. He is not physically capable of it, wouldn't beat McDavid in a skating race in 20 tries, unless McDavid fell down.

Its one thing to be a little faster on one shift or a little slower. That comes and goes depending on many things, but only great skaters can skate great, even if its one play.

Why does montreal want to move Galcenyuck(SP?) so badly? thats the real question

Another good point I have wondered as well. For a team that desperately needs offense, whether A Center or Winger, shouldn't THIS guy fit that mold? Red flags IMO. I still would take him in the right deal. Not straight up for Stepan though.

Probably because it's the second coach now who doesn't trust him to play a 200 feet game but then again the "great" Julien wasn't a Seguin fan either

Thats an unfair statement considering Julien has coached him for what 3 months? That is a bit premature to say.

I do not think Stepan can skate faster than the fastest guy in the league in a race. There are some shifts you will see 4th line players skating as fast as some of the best guys in the league and vice versa. There are a lot of factors in play. I do agree that Stepan is not a fast skater overall.

Wouldn't say it's Julien. Higher up than the HC. Julien had Galchenyuk penciled in as the 1C when he first came to Montreal and quickly changed that for no apparent reason.

Cap issues down the road

e: for the Habs, even if they don't re-sign Radulov they might be in a bind with guys who will need new contracts in the coming years, including Price who will ask for the moon

Why did the Rangers already use the buy out on girardi before the expansion draft?... They could protect 3D, so Mcdonagh was not in danger, and Skjei is exempt.. Is a trade looming? perhaps a Smith re sign?.. timing seems odd..

unless they wanted to protect Holden...

You'd think that a trade was coming for a D since they can agree to a contract with Smith and just make it official later.

I don't know, with this organization's history at evaluating defensive talent, it wouldn't shock me if they did this just so they could protect Holden.

watch AV put Staal with Mcdonagh.

Rather protect Holden than Girardi. Holden is still a a good player to have if he's played in the right role (i.e, bottom pairing), no reason to lose him for nothing.

Holden is easily replaceable tho, especially with the Rangers depth on the left side. Staal isn't going anywhere. so they have Mcdonagh, Skjei and Staal already.. Where does Holden fit?

Between the 2 of them I agree.

I wouldn't bat a lash if Holden ended up being exposed and taken. I think he could be fine on a 3rd pair, but we have better options.

Dont know about you fella's

But i would do stepan for Gal in a heartbeat.

If mtl can't come to terms with radulov. sign him. especially he had chemistry with Gal.

Get koval from NJ.

I would go as far as trying to get Kane.

Rad, Koval and Kane all have grit in their game.

Would be a nice change from the nice guy ranger attitude we've been dealing with the last couple of seasons.

Get the bum soft jelly dounut Nash out of here.

Move staal even if it costs our 1st.

Please trade Hayes. He aint getting any better. what you see is what you will get. for a man his size, thats the only thing he has going for him. other than that, his game is average at best.

Last 2 rangers who ever would be willing to drop their mitts(besides glass of course)
is Klein who is leaving and Smith who we dont know will be re signed.

Id rather score 3 goals a game rather than 5 but be a team that may put some fear coming into the rink.
