I’ve repeatedly said he’s more than likely getting traded. I’m just pointing out that it’s not nearly as impossible to keep him as some posters here want you to believe. That’s all. You wanna trade him for a draft pick and a questionable player. That’s cool. Some people like pumpkin pie, some don’t.

Kravtsov hasn’t played a single NHL game and you got him on the second lime.
I don’t have Kravstov anywhere. I mentioned he or Kakko have experience playing LW, so instead of signing a LW we can try and promote from within.

People are concerned about the unknown, the unknown was also Panarin, Trouba, Fox, ADA, Kakko, Chytil, etc not long ago.

You’re not sure? But you know it’s somehow going to be a problem? Cool.
How can I be sure? Were u sure that ADA was going to go from 925$ to 6M?

Chytil looks great... Kakko is 18! Maybe plan for them to need some cash at some point? Or just grab ur paycheck and go buy rounds for your boys at the bar until Monday comes and ur broke for two weeks.

I technically like the deal for both teams but giving up your best D prospect AND a first is crazy. Zucker is a good 2nd line F with an injury history on a decent contract and PIT has a thin prospect pool as it is.

Doesn't matter a thing for them. They couldn't care less. Why would the Pens care about their prospect pool at this point?
Crosby and Malkin aren't getting any younger and their window is closing. Pens want to win cups, not bank assets. They can't afford to waste over 4 millions of cap for a useless player...not even for one year. They're getting a much better, cost controlled player back.

Also, Zucker is a perfect fit for them. He's what they're looking for. If you check their roster they actually have a lot of similar players already to complement their stars.

Galchenyuk is basically a throw in at this point. Late first and a good prospect isn't outrageous for Zucker considering the term left on his deal.

He's one of the main reasons the Pens did this deal. Whoever wanted their first had to eat that cap or the Pens wouldn't have done it. They need every bit of cap space they can get and can't afford to have a useless player making over 4 millions...not even for one year.

Honestly, I like Kreider but with us finally having the top rental on the market, i would be massively pissed if we resign him now. Boston has to be looking at Pitsburgh getting Zucker, other teams too. I mean, I think we really got the best out of Kreider for 4.5 mill, are we confident we get more for 6 or 7? I'm not, I think he is a nice player, but if he lands us a first and a good forward prospect to go with it, sign me up. Resign DeAngelo, Strome as their ages line up better and move on. I'm confident Kakko is a better player next year and can join the top 6, and I'm hopeful Kravtsov takes Kakko's current spot. But, this has to be the last tear down year. I'm actually ok signing him in the offseason too but we have to get that return.

I have no doubt Kreider will probably get multiple 7x7 offers on July 1st
I have doubts. He’s 29 at the start of next season, a wing, not a center and a lot of top teams have cap issues. It’s also a strong possibility that Hall will be a free agent and he will be the top gun in the market.

All conjecture but we’ll just have to see where it goes.

Well they spent all that money on Zuccarello and Spurgeon. Goalies are cheap and they definitely would be in the playoffs with a better one.

Yeah but it might be a bit late to add this season. Might also be a bit early to give up on Dubnyk who was very good until last season. Some of his bad play this season is also due to the team in front of him not defending good enough.

The Rangers will likely prefer to protect 7-3-1 in the expansion draft. That means it is likely Tony D or Skeji moves this offseason. Tony D only gets traded for a premium asset. Skeji, has value, just not at that level.

I think the Rangers might be a player for a left defenseman who will not necessarily have to be protected next year. Brenden Dillon comes to mind as someone that could be signed and potentially exposed. Ron Hainsey is ancient but he is still playing very well. He could come in on a one year. There may be others available in trade. Muzzin is probably too costly.

The Rangers shop window now:
- top rental winger
- cost-controlled, young scoring winger
- cost-controlled, young starting goalie
- signed project-able defenseman
- inexpensive, excellent rental defensive winger
- assorted sundries

Whichever route we take with the draft, and even if we move Skjei first, Hajek and at least one of Howden, Andersson and Strome are likely exposed.
