Dubas was never going to pony up. So much scrutiny in that market he would rather pay a dollar to get 50 cents worth of assets than pay 5 bucks for a potential 10 dollar return.
From TML perspective, I would much rather move 3rd rounders for a really good bottom 6 player in Clifford and a decent back-up goalie than moving a scoring winger in Kapanen for a talented back-up.

If the Rangers moved Hank (if, if, if), you’re almost certainly looking at salary retention as part of the deal.

Any deal wouldn’t bring back $8 million in cap relief.
Even with maximum cap retention, it will be tough to orchestrate such a deal.

I get that which is why I never thought Georgiev to the Leafs was going to happen.

See it’s tough to get a gauge on what will happen to Georgiev. Gorton has the price set high because the team obviously values him.

But at what point does it become unrealistic based on the circumstances. Dreger asked Gorton tonight if Sandin was enough for Georgiev and Gorton said no.

Now obviously that was in jest, but it also wouldn’t surprise me if Gorton was being honest

And at that point in the proceedings, seems to me like they’re not serious about trading him haha

At $4 million, with only a one year commitment, I don’t think finding a team would be too difficult. Especially if there isn’t an expectation of a huge return.

I think the biggest obstacle, and arguably the only one that matters, is Lundqvist himself. But I think there are a few possibilities out there, and a $4 million salary wouldn’t be too much of an issue.

My guess is that for Gorton, if the market is what it is for Georgiev, he may feel there’s probably not a ton of difference between February and June.

In other words, if Georgiev is only worth second, that price probably doesn’t drop this summer. So why not wait and see if someone can do better. Even if the odds are slim, they might not be any worse than the odds of the offers going down.

Campbell is teetering on the sub 900 save percentage. He is just barely serviceable. 28 years old.

Its fine lets watch Toronto burn.

Moore got the boot only minutes after the game ended. Cold blooded

I think Dubas’ seat is much warmer than Gorton’s right now.

He knows where to find Gorton if he wants to chat.
Yea but theres no way he turns around and trades what we want for Georgiev now that he has Campbell. Not before the deadline. Campbell would have to be a complete failure and/or Andersen would have to be injured worse than they thought

I honestly don’t think the Rangers are sweating the goalie situation as the deadline approaches.

I really, truly believe that they will go with 3 goalies if they don’t get what they want at the deadline.

Are there other teams besides Carolina that were sniffing around the Rangers goalie situation?

I dont know who the comparable would be to Kapanen on Carolina...and thats if we could get that return.

I wouldn't be surprised in the Hawks were with an eye on the draft/off-season.
Both Crawford and Lehner are UFAs, and Georgiev on a cheapish could could help them out.

So 2 3rds and Moore who again I like for Campbell and Clifford is like Georgiev and Fast ?

If so I can see why Gorton didn’t do it
