Kaako is right now arguably the worst player in the NHL . He’s only 19 and still developing but once again look At Zib he didn’t become an impact player until what 24-25 . Kaako doesn’t skate well , doesn’t hit , doesn’t defend , and has a shot like a muffin . How is he overtaking Kreider . He may very well become a great player but right now he has a whole lot of holes in his game at the NHL level . By 22 -23 I hope he’s a diff player but he doesn’t have any explosiveness to his skating and besides being decent on the pp half wall in kit seeing an elite player in the least . He does not do anything at an elite level . Ck has elite skating speed , can hit , defend , and is the best at tipping pucks in the league. He sets the bar on this team .KK AND KRAVSTOV are not the players to make this team reach the next level . I don’t see a whole lot in Kravstov Game scoring at a .25 pts a game pace in the AHL .

Again, I think this is probably the last major sell off.

Defense and Goalie have both current and future young players in the pipeline in abundance.

Forward doesn't. It has Kakko, Kravtsov, and Chytil. Andersson has busted out. And forward is the position you need the most of.

We still have to be asset accumulating to make our forward cupboard resemble of D cupboard.

Yeah but looking at experienced vets we have very little. Staal, Hank and probably Smith will all be gone very soon. Kreider, Fast and Strome are all up in the air now. That leaves Mika, Panarin, Trouba... anyone else? It’s really not much.

Yea he has and IMO has actually declined a bit. He is someone I definitely hope they move by 2022 when his modified NTC comes into effect and we have a prospect that replaces him.

Still waiting for what KK does so great . Have not heard one person say he skates great or has an elite shot . Fact he has neither . I am not saying he’s not going to get better but penciling him on to fill CK Producton as a first line wing is ridiculous . The guy can barely take a 40s shift without looking like he’s going to blow chunks on the bench after . He just turned 19 and has been taking regular shifts in the NHL since October. I don’t think people realize how rare that is. He’s the last of this team’s problems.

Puck Protection and hands, he hasn't done it consistently this year but there are shifts where he shows flashes of how good he can be at that. Once he gets better conditioning and more strength he will be able to do it on a more consistent basis. Also his passing is really good, there have been some great passes on the power play this year.

I guess Hughes, with his 20 points and -18, is just as much of a schlub/bust as Kakko.

These guys are 18 year olds playing in kids bodies against grown ass men. The 18 year old Laine's of the world a very few and very far between.

It's not unreasonable to expect Kakko to improve from his 30ish points this year to 40-50 next year and that's where Kreider's been his whole career.

That's the thing, Zads doesn't do this at all. Most "tough stay at home D" don't do this, but NEMETH has done it consistently for his whole career - that's why I love him.

Never said KK IS A bust . But I do feel that he is no where near replacing what CK brings to the rangers . At 23-24 probably but his skating , strength and shot are not elite NHL level and the only reason he’s in the league right now is draft position . He should be in the AHL and he def needs a lot of improvement on his shot and skating . He’s downright slow there’s no two ways about it and can’t play with NHL PACE right now .
I’m not the one who’s saying the rangers are gong to be better next year without CK and penciling KK AND VK in the top 6 . That’s lottery pick material top 6 .

Hey, I'm not saying that the Rangers are better off without CK. They aren't. But, unless Hank and/or Staal retires or somebody needs to get to the cap floor with a Smith salary, there's no way to sign everyone along with Kreider and, even then, if I'm the Rangers I'm staying far away from a Kevin Hayes type 7x7 deal which is exactly what Kreider is going to get somewhere.

Kakko has played A LOT of hockey in the past year with a young frame in the world's toughest league. He'll get there.

KK will be fine. He’s developing in the NHL at his young age. It is rare. He’s going to fill out and be a monster on the Power play.
just needs some time. He’s a smart player as well.
