I think he at one point was hurting pretty bad.not just from the neck injury either. He had a bad shoulder/collarbone injury that affected him shooting the puck, and also a rib injury that was never given time to heal. Coupled with the 6 losing seasons and a rebuild on the horizon I truly believe his intent was on neck surgery.
I think now since this is basically the most time in his career he’s had off to rest, that rehab has almost gotten him back to form but he doesn’t want to admit that for 2 reasons.
1 it’s his ticket out of that dumpster fire in buffalo. He doesn’t want to waste his prime years never playing a playoff game.
2 he’ll look like a complete schmuck Villain to the entire fan base and city.
I don’t think he set out to do it; but I do think he got outside advice probably from his agent on how to proceed if he wanted a way out of Buffalo

It's not if you're continuously taking yourself out of the play to do it.

He blows at playing hockey and isn't even going to be qualified by Chicago who just traded for him. He can't hold Trouba's jock.

My view is still the same I said the other day I felt they were trying to unite those players not necessarily on the same line but maybe especially if someone moved to right wing laff or Krieder)

That said I feel the same as when I asked this question originally but I do feel this is now trending in one of two ways

1. Sign Coleman and Danualt
Trade for Gourde (Strome Chytll)

2. Sign Coleman Trade for Eichel and in this scenario Kakko or Kravy may go in whatever package. Coleman could play with Panarin and Eichel actually a great fit.

Either direction it's 4 very good lines to throw out there. I'd prefer the Gourde Danualt combo as I stated the other day but curious to see how this all unfolds.

Actually a really good fit. Extremely solid defensively, has size, veteran but not old, Swedish so can help Nils on and off the ice. Good job Drury (assuming it goes through).

Good signing. Versatile D and pretty cheap. Solid vet to pair with Nils

Zadorov is an excellent skater who hits better than anyone in the league. Absolute beast, and has way more offensive skill than Nemeth. Zadorov is also hilarious and one of the biggest characters in the league

He takes himself out of position too much to throw those hits. He’s not a very good defender, particularly 1 on 1 . The best thing to like about Zadorov is that he polices the front for the net. That is absolutely not worth close to 4 mill a year though
