The issue with swimming through content here is that a fair amount of HF minds would support DeAngelo and Virtanen, it’s just a video game world.

Anyone who wants Virtanen is an idiot for multiple reasons. This organization just bought out a player who had locker room issues, now you wanna bring in a guy who allegedly raped a woman? Seriously? And number 2, Virtanen sucks.

I think the situations are different though. Virtanen in all likelihood will be back playing hockey sooner rather than later and his problems will more or less be forgotten just like Pat Kane’s and many others were.

We really do not know if he has done anything wrong. It’s unfortunate that if he has done something wrong — there is like a 90% that he wouldn’t have been convicted. But you cannot just black list someone forever just because he has become subject to an accusation that may or may not be true.

If an accusation is made several years after something supposedly happen it’s more or less impossible to get any further than word against word. In all liklihood he will be cleared and that is that.

I also think it’s a bit distasteful that Virtanen is somewhat sentenced beforehand in Vancouver due him not being popular in Vancouver. Maybe that is incorrect, but it is the feeling I got. Would Elias Petersson have been threated the same way if he became subject to an accusation that he claimed to be 100% incorrect? This doesn’t matter in any relevant context, but it just annoyed me a little.

I'm kinda expecting Strome to still be the 2C at this point when the season starts.. Then again we could trade him for Deslauriers

Makar just got 9 he can take 9 as well. To remain home and play for the team he loves. I’m sure he will
Makar also took 6 years. I'm pretty sure both Fox and the Rangers are looking for max term, 8 years. That drives up the AAV.

Dvorak again?

I have never seen this board so obsessed with such an irrelevant player.
I think people love the idea of what he is rather than you know…what he actually is. He’s not this magical two-way player that people think he is, and if he didn’t ride shotgun to Tkachuk and Marner in London, he wouldn’t even be half as relevant as he is today.
He’s like a fine 3C that has way too much term and doesn’t produce anywhere near where his contract warrants. Given what people are proposing to trade for him, it’s an absolutely terrible move.

Promoting Chytil or trading Chytil for a 2c is an option. And they should do one or the other.
Man that hurts. I would like some names of who would be coming back to fill that 2c slot preferable cost controlled and early to mid 20s

No. No we don't. 9 mil for 7-8 years would be fair.

With the kind of borderline UFA level deals young dmen are signing right now, they'd have to play serious hardball with Fox to keep the number down.

It's aggravating because it feels like teams aren't hardly saving a penny from RFA protection any more. The next CBA needs to address this because it's making good drafting less and less important.

This can go either way really ... either it clicks and we make the playoffs or this a top 10 pick in the making.

We have to trade Strome for a 2022 first, somehow. xD Let Chytil and Barron slide up.
