Yea, so this is what I was talking about. Overpay Goodrow by 1M (I'd argue more but whatever). Now overpay Shesterkin by 1M. Suddenly you keep doing that and it's not "oh we just overpaid by 1M it doesn't matter" and you've wasted, 3,4, 5 million. Now, I argued for near no limit on Panarin ("What's another 500k just run a 22 man roster etc.) but that is a different quality of player and I'd argue he is still underpaid based on his production as the salary cap forces the top players to get salaries less than they are worth.

Except that rfa is not ufa. There’s no indication that drury is gonna massively overpay the kids. The Lindgren deal was absolutely in line with what we wanted.

Well there is a ton of smoke around Eichel and NYR apparently as we've seen. Brooksie tweeting that Buffalo's ask hasnt changed. Scares me a lot.

Is there really? There is of course a lot of buzz around Eichel. But I’ve mostly seen reports that other teams don’t think it’s worth staying in touch with Buffalo. Doesn’t mean we are willing to make a trade.
