Priorities. No NHL player has had cervical disc surgery.

I know its the neck, one of the worst spots to get injured but there seems to be an injury like this in major sports and the player ends up being the same. We’ll find out, its definitely a risk

Pandoras Box has been opened.

If Goodrow is worth $3.6M for 6... what's Shesty worth?
Pay Trouba $8M... what's Fox worth?
Well Trouba was signed before a pandemic flattened the cap so that’s a legit excuse. But yeah, where does it end? It does all add up in the end.

Besides, we still don’t know how Igor will handle a full 82 game slate yet.

From the smoke signals it seems Drury's been busy trying to trade Strome & Buch for top 10 picks - no doubt to use as ammo in an Eichel trade, maybe even after subsequent moves for a top 5 pick. All that seems very complicated to pull off since other teams are perfectly aware what's going on and play hardball.

If we do see Strome, Buch or both moved for high picks it's definitely squeaky bum time.

Give Igor 4.5-5 mill on a 4 or 5 year deal. He hasn’t earned anything really beyond that.
That is still incredibly significant commitment to a guy w a lot of potential who's been around as long at Jim Carey (not saying he's Jim Carey)

The reloading on this page mid post is horrendous

anyway he absolutely has but his injuries and starts and stops because of them do not warrant a 6 mil a year commitment. No way. 5x5 IMO was more than fair. Actually a lot of faith from NYR in even offering that. 6 mil? That’s not ok. He’s got more to prove

How is Eichel even getting traded today without any team seeing his medical record? I think that boat has sailed already.
Players get traded all the time w medicals exchanged day of. Everyone knows what the issues are, it's not a secret at this point. He doesn't need to be diagnosed, it would just be a review of what we know.

Yeah I mean it is. I just feel like both sides would be trying to avoid a 2 year bridge here. Both will want a little bit of security and stability.

Becoming a sponsor fixed it for me.

Well you really have two choices. Give him a 1 year show me deal or make a 4 or 5 year deal. the player isn't doing 4 or 5 years at a discount bc if he really establishes himself he's losing money, so that's the risk the team takes.

Way too early for anyone to trade. There is hardly a consensus for the board. Teams will wait until their targets are gone. Buffalo's deadline will come before ours. They want another top 10 selection badly. I would guess they cave in if their player is on the board at #8. If we do the Strome and #15 for #10 swap, I could see a trade of #8, #10, Jones, and something inconsequential.

Not an endorsement by any means, just a forecast. That seems impossible to pull off. Adams is making his big play but his leverage plummets tomorrow.

I mean Eichel’s situation is a bit different. Idk if Rangers doctors would wanna give their determination in a matter of hours whether to make a deal or not.

I’ll see you at the wailing and the gnashing of the teeth to come
Not likely. I rarely assume the worst. The oly move that I trashed early and often was signing Jack Johnson, but that was a no brainer. I don't worry endlessly about cap issues because the team generally works that out, I generally trust the professionals over whiny fans.
