Hm, big and lumbering is exactly how I would describe Eichel’s skating?

Sure when he got his speed going, he can step around a D. He is really hard to get a hold of in the attacking zone. But he isn’t going to keep up with a Yanni Gourde in a transition play.
That’s not true at all, eichel is one of the fastest skaters in the nhl. His stride is weird as hell but he’s fast

Dunn isn't "the type of player" we're looking for to fill that 3LDH spot.

McNabb, Soucy. Those are the types of guys they are eyeing.
this seems short sighted. Dunn is really good. You can never have too many good d-men.

in terms of value, yeah, i can get behind this logic but Dunn is a very strong, underrated d-man

I don’t think Dunn would be someone they would pair with Lundkvist regularly. In sayi by that, I could see him paired with Trouba and Miller with Lundkvist

Lots of posturing. Hopefully if we get to the draft and the Rangers pick at 15 that'll be the symbolic end of this silliness.

Dunn is not the right partner for Nils. Maybe if he was with Trouba and Miller with Nils but that's not ideal.

Schneider's value has gone up since being drafted too. He had a good season in the W. If he were in another team's system he would be their best prospect, we'd all be foaming at the mouth if this was 2014 or something. We just kind of take him for granted him because our system is so stacked.

He's a bonafide blue chip prospect.
Schneider brings a lot more of what we need right now than Nils. And I love them both.

SERAVALLI: Ice Breakers - Rangers the team to watch as NHL trade freeze lifts - Daily Faceoff

"> One team to watch is the New York Rangers.
GM Chris Drury has multiple irons in the fire – well aside from the new deal for two-time Stanley Cup champion Barclay Goodrow we reported on Monday.

Here are some of the things we’re hearing connected to the Broadway Blueshirts:
Sources said the Kraken were underwhelmed with the options at center presented in the Expansion Draft, so they may pursue bulking up at the position via the trade market. Ryan Strome has been linked to the Kraken. Would Strome make any sense in Vegas, who is also looking for centers?

The Rangers have attempted to move arbitration-eligible RFA Pavel Buchnevich for weeks now.

New York has been seeking a suitor for goaltender Alexandar Georgiev. The ask is believed to be a first-round pick. It’s unlikely Georgiev, who is also seeking a fresh start, will fetch that price.

> All of which has teams wondering: Are the Rangers the leading contender to acquire Jack Eichel? Sources say the Rangers have quietly checked with each of the teams holding a pick inside the Top 10 of Friday’s Draft, inquiring about the price to acquire it. (New York’s first-round pick is No. 16 overall.) The belief is the Rangers would like to package that pick in a transaction for Eichel, as the Sabres are reportedly seeking another lottery-range pick to go with their No. 1 overall selection.
Teams in conversation with the Sabres have said the asking price for Eichel is “astronomical.” Buffalo is looking for a futures-type deal with multiple prospects and picks involved. ...

> Speaking of the Rangers, would new coach Gerard Gallant have any influence or interest in attempting to pluck one of Jonathan Marchessault or Reilly Smith out of Vegas? Both are available."

DeAngelo still has not been bought out officially yet? I am shocked it has not been officially announced yet.

so Minnesota hasn't seen medical records either?

This guy isn't going to play this year is he because Buffalo isn't in any rush to actually complete anything it seems and we're already in August, even a 4 month surgery recovery time would be like January by the time a move is completed

I feel like Adams is misplaying his hand here. He's trying to go the Sakic with Duchene route and get a huge haul, but his major difference here is the injury. You can't just wait out people to pay your price when the player in question has what is considered a fairly serious injury and you're not providing transparency on it.

No. But your medical team can keep you apprised of risks, likelihood of recovery, etc. From there you can make an informed decision as an organization about what you feel comfortable offering.
That's the point. There's extreme risk on the team that trading for him.

We're talking about two different people. The pushback isn't from what the org is currently doing but what people here are offering. Chytil, Buch, Lundkvist/Kravtsov is the issue. You don't offer anything close to that or imo it'd end in disaster

Even if Eichel goes the Letang route, thats 4-6 months of recovery, how long does Buffalo think they have to trade Eichel if he wants to play even half the year at this point? Its gotta happen relatively soon

I could definitely be wrong, but I think he is doing anything he can to move Eichel but that Eichel is borderline having negative value without retention. Engage teams, put an astronomical ask there. If he ends up getting something, great. If not, it cannot get worse by keeping Eichel and waiting out his return. He can also tell Eichel, hey we tried but with the flat cap it was just impossible to get anything done.

Meh, if you're the savers would you really prefer 15 this year or a lottery protected 2022 pick? Or even a top 10 protected 2022 pick? Just based on quality of drafts. I really believe that the deadline for the eichel trade is the first day of free agency
