I actually think the team next year will be overall better than last. But I can't see how this particular roster, with our shitty center balance, is going to KNOCK OUT one of the following of TOR, CAR, TBL, FL, BOS, NYI, WSH, PIT. The older teams of that group I think are still better. And in terms of last year's disastrous extracurricular issues holding us back (they did a bit I am sure), which team would have we knocked out in the MassMutual East?

If you remember both the isles and jackets were in a free fall at one point and we were right on Boston's tail until Trouba got hurt. There were opportunities but it was one thing after another. The only teams that worry me in our division are Wash and Carolina. Pits is kind of a mess unless they make some deals, I think we can play with the Isles, i think we're better than philly, NJ and Columbus without any moves.

If the Devils do land Hamilton, that would be a huge upgrade for them.

Hopefully the cross-Hudson rivalry heats up again the next 3-5 years.

Right, and I think they probably will even be better than Montreal too. But this team and it's core isn't even settled yet. I just think those other top teams are a lot more marinated at this point, and haven't been spoiled just yet. One more year out.

Montreal got lucky this year. They won't make playoffs next year. Toronto is worse than they were last year, they have 9 mill to fill their left wing, add a dman and get a goalie, they lost Thornton, Hyman, Andersson, Bogosian. But those teams arent in our division anyway.

Hamilton has mastered the art of being simultaneously overrated and underrated.

I'd never want him on my team but his shot metrics are absurd. At the same time, I can totally see him being the guy who gets his major pay day and coasts his way into retirement.

I don't really believe this Danault to Vegas report, because:
1. It's from Georges Laraque
2. Montreal has wanted to sign him, why are they giving Vegas permission to speak with him?

Danault to Vegas
Stepan to Minnesota

This equation is just leading to Eichel for Kravtsov, Chytil, Jones, 1.

Really do not want him and do not like this puzzle taking shape.
Stepan would replace Bonino and sign for cheap, not take them out of Eichel sweepstakes lol cmon now.

I wouldnt mind Stepan back as a 3C/4C on the very cheap here

It was reported yesterday I believe that Habs were informed they were out so they probably just gave him permission.

Agreed. They got some real interesting young prospects and young players coming up soon. Plus Jack Hughes is the real deal. That 5 pt game against us last year is just the beginning. That kids the real deal and going to be a game breaker
