Like i said keep it up. All you do is have negative **** to say about everything. All the time. You were just on your ***** rant last week about the Rangers and the moves they made and their cap situation. *****ing things had not been resolved yet.

No one was saying Boyle was being brought into fight anyone or that he was ever a good fighter, and yet you had to bring that irrelevant fact into the discussion with your snobbish, unfounded comment.

Keep adding value to the board.
Don’t have a hissy fit over someone giving their opinion about a player.

No hissy fit at all. Youre just becoming tiresome at this point. The constant negativity. The constant bashing of players. Mocking them. We get it you dont like anything. The Rangers have not done anything the way you have wanted. You want to discuss your opinions on Boyle thats fine. But when someone gives their opinions of the positives of Boyle, you refute it by making sarcastic comments about his skating, his desire to get more minutes still to this day, his fighting ability, and the list goes on.

You are throwing a hissy fit. I said skating was never his strength. That wasn’t sarcasm. It’s a well-known and reported fact. Grow up. If you disagree, then disagree and move on.

So being realistic Kreider is not getting resigned so move him now , buyout Smith and call it a day ?

Devils are gonna take a contract ... why not us ? They have an extra 4th this year and 5th next ....

2019-2020

Keep in mind this is a dream scenario, sure some of these trades could happen in isolated circumstances, but the likelyhood of the Rangers being able to execute all of these deals is non-zero, but it's as close as you can get.

First, see the Rangers roster/cap for the 2019/2020 NHL Season (Another try at fixing the Rangers and making all fanbases happy at the same time - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps).

In the NYR-VGK deal, the Knights get their ask of a 2nd and a prospect, and that prospect happens to be NHL ready to center Vegas' 4th line, Brett Howden. Has potential to be a cornerstone 3rd line C on a Cup Contending team. He is young and cost-controlled, and will be able to move up and down the lineup for VGK. The Rangers are able to get a tantalizing player in Gusev, who will have no issues joining Panarin, Buchnevich, Rykov, Kravtsov and Shesterkin in NY.

In the NYR-EDM trade, the Rangers get a 2020 1st and reclamation project Jesse Puljujarvi for Chris Kreider. The 2020 draft will be deep, so even if the Oilers make the PLayoffs (with the addition of Kreider and Names they likely could), the NYR will get a great player. Trading Names with 1M retained, while also taking cap casualties Gagner and Manning gets the Rangers a 2nd and 3rd round pick, with the 3rd possibly being augmented to a 2nd if Kreider re-signs, further upping the value of the deal. Mutually beneficial trade.

In the NYR-SJS trade, it may seem like an overpayment by SJ at first glance, but when broken down it isn't at all. Fast is a guy all Cup champs employ, and at <2M, he's a bargain. The 2nd and 3rd is for him (mirroring the return MTL got for Shaw), while Georgiev gets the Rangers another 2nd, which could turn into a first if he becomes the teams "starter". That is similar to the price the Sharks payed to get Jones, who was less proven than Goergiev at the time of trades.

In the NYR-ANA trade, the Rangers rid themselves of the entire Shattenkirk albatross. In all accounts, this trade will end up being a loss for NYR, but a needed loss. The Rangers would never be able to offer Shatty a chance to rebound, at most giving him 3rd pair minutes and spotty PP time with Trouba and DeAngelo ahead of him on both the RHD side and the PP facet. Meanwhile, Anaheim has the space to take on the full contract, while they are also able to offer him top-4 mins and PP time, which will let him rebound at least some of the way. For helping the Rangers, they also gain a 2021 1st round pick, which likely won't be lottery as the Rangers team previewed in this Armchair would likely be a playoff team in year 1, and definitely a playoff team in year 2.

Lrt me know if youguys want me to do a 2020-2021 Snapshot as well if you liked this! Again, I know this won't happen, but I think it would be one of the best scenarios I could imagine.

Honestly I don't see any of these working.

Keep in mind that Gusev is 27 and his new contract will not be an ELC deal. He can make a lot of money in Russia and I would think he'll want a lot of money from his new NHL team too. The Rangers have cap issues to sort out--and I don't think he's going to come cheap. Rangers probably be better off with Howden and the draft pick.

If Edmonton is on Kreider's no trade list and he sticks to it that kills that off as a destination but even so I can't see Edmonton touching this. IMO Kreider will get his highest value at the deadline but a return like Hayes got is probably close to what he'll get.

San Jose is an old team and can't afford to be trading so many higher draft picks. They're also invested in their own goalie. What happens to him? What if they trade Georgiev before the conditions can be met on their part? and he meets them with some other team? Three years is a long time to have conditions on a pick.

I would not trade a 1st to get rid of Shattenkirk. I'd rather buy him out.

How do you turn off the “Read More” function so when i get a notification about a quoted post it takes me right to that post like it always has...

i'm not seeing that...it still takes me to the post? are you on a mobile version?

things could change after we make moves to get under the cap and see who gets moved, but right now signing any of the remaining UFAs makes ZERO sense, I don't care who it is...and its not about lack of cap space either cause most of the remaining ufa suck and shouldn't make much. its about our depth...where the hell would you play them?

we've got 3 goalies...

if fox makes the team you've got 8 dmen plus 2 of hajek, lindgren and rykov won't get a shot...

up front if you assume that kakko and kravtsov make the team out of camp, then you've got zibanejad, panarin, kreider, buchnevich, strome, fast, namestnikov, chytil, andersson, howden, lemieux, kakko and kravtsov...thats 13 guys which means 1 of those guys would be in the press box or hartford...and doesn't even look at the 7 forwards in hartford under 27 that played in the nhl last year that could fill bottom 6 spots.

now to get under the cap we are going to have to move at least 2 guys, probably 3 to give a little wiggle room...so lets say that you move out 1 dman and 2 forwards and also assume that none of those moves return an actual player that would replace them in the lineup....you'd probably need to go out and sign a cheap veteran d to be a potential 7th d in case fox needs time in hartford...up front though it obviously depends on which 2 guys get moved but if kakko & kravtsov, do we really need to sign someone? if you moved 1 forward than you don't need to move anyone and mckegg or nieves becomes the 13th forward...if you move 2 then you could maybe sign 1 guy but its not even needed.

as for boyle and brassard...aside from nostalgia, the only scenario that either makes sense to me is if the 2 forwards we trade are strome and namestnikov. if you trade both insurance policies at center than you'd need to bring in a veteran that can play center. but if either guy or both are still here than there is zero need for either guy

Please take this at face value.

I heard today from a NHL source that there’s a rumor floating around once Buchnevich arbitration is settled, he may be traded. Nothing direct, just a general rumor.

Financial certainty may be important to acquiring team.

any mention of potential trade partners?

This would match the same info I got and posted before. Interesting. What kind of return could we expect?
