Why does everyone on here act like Knies is some bonafide star prospect? Just because his name on the game sheet has a Maple Leaf next to it? His top potential is a middle 6 forward.
He's not a star prospect, but how many rentals return prospects like Knies? None, at best it's very rare. I'd say he has solid top 6/2nd line potential.

If the Blues position on ROR is that any deal with the Leafs MUST include Knies with the Leafs insisting on keeping Knies then can the two teams still find a trade like Barbashev or Acciari going to the Leafs for a non-Knies return?

Beautiful B.C.
I think he’ll be really good this year in the playoffs, but I’m not giving him a multi year deal

If I were the Leafs, I’d ask for ROR and Barbashev for Kneis. Adding those 2 guys would make it hell to play against.

I’ll take Barby and ROR for 2023 1St, Knies and next years 2nd

ROR and Barbie on the leafs would be insane. That’s a fair offer. I’ll take it

Ok, they can keep the 2nd 😂
Getting more expensive for every day he spends off the ice.

Can I interest you in a Jake Muzzin for Snuggerud trade?

That's the point that proposal will never happen just like Knies for a rental won't happen
Lol we will see. Friedman is saying there are multiple teams vying for both ror and tarasenko. This is a sellers market and with multiple buyers that's the price. Dubas is on the hot seat and if he doesn't perform he is fired. So you can guarantee he will make a drastic move

I agree but if it involves Knies It's for a player with term.

Unless It's Timo Meier, I could see that being an exception.

Technically yes because a qualifying offer only counts towards the cap if It's singed qualifying a player costs no cap space
Yes but his signing is like 7 to 10. You are giving up huge amount of assets for him just to not be able to qualify him. That makes perfect sense

If any team is looking at Meier as a pure rental then they can always turn around and offer him up at the draft. Most of the teams if not all that saw him as something more than just a rental ought to be still interested
