In my books.

Mesar had a strong game.

Best 3 forwards overall

Joshua Roy
Roy, Joshua
Make-a-wish kid.

It's obviously not that Roy was amazing, it's just that this forward prospects pool is bad and there wasn't much shown

Best 3 dman

Miguel Tourigny
William Trudeau
Logan Mailloux

Best goalie.

Quentin Miller.

Dobes played the hardest contest. Spunar let in a weak one, but made the saves when they came. All 3 played well, but I think Miller did the best.

We'll see him in the NHL much sooner than that regardless of how ready he is
Sure but expect him to struggle for a while. I mean Dahlin is one of the best prospect dman i've seen in my lifetime and he took some time before being ready in his own zone.

These games are invariably duds but that was easily the most entertaining (and promising) ones I've ever seen.

Very fun. Lots of guys looked really really impressive.

Mesar is electric with the puck on his stick.

Farrell had much more pep in his step. Looked really good.

Kidney much more engaged and showed some impressive hands. I'm impressed considering how many were completely meh on him except WTK. He could come up just short of being a legit prospect but there's potential there. Had some weird giveaways near the end but still a real good showing.

Mailloux was unreal in the offensive zone.

Reinbacher had one rush in the 3rd that really showcased his skating. He was just flying. As much as I wanted to pick him, I did get cold feet with certain viewings but I'm very impressed with him. He seemed a bit casual at times kind of like Struble where they're not really going as hard as they could.

Struble looked very solid.

It seemed like every time Tourigny had the puck he was drawing a tripping penalty or a potential penalty.

Trudeau was flying too. Very impressed

Mysak doesn't seem to be fading away to irrelevance quite yet with another goal.

They all looked like Harlem Globetrotters lol which makes me think the Sens were icing utter garbage. Still you could clearly see the skill of some of these guys. I was impressed.

Him and Trudeau, I feel now that Trudeau has a legit shot to play NHL during the season with some injuries. He learns fast
I am a huge believer in William Trudeau. He emergence last season I believe caught everyone off guard. 27 points in 60 games, excellent 1st pro season.

Here
My evaluation of Habs prospects during this tournament.

Best Forward: Joshua Roy

Best defenseman: Trudeau and Reinbacher

Best surprise: Mysak

Best performance by goalie. Quentin Miller
Specifically for the three games, I got what you got but this nugget;
I got Tourigny in my two, without handicapping age and exp.

Mesar, Kidney and Mysak showing why you don't just toss the baby out with the bath water when there are speed bumps.

Kidney is a slow burn, he has a long way to do in his physical development but the IQ and skills are there.

Mesar shows that he can dangle, use his speed and playmaking to put defenses in trouble. The skill set is impressive, the clay has to be molded.

Mysak was very good, improved his foot speed, competitive, makes pro level plays. f*** you, Houle.

Mailloux must have turned his game around. Made your top 3. You hated him after Buffalo game.

Struble has long term pro career written all over him IMO. He's simplified his game a ton since his freshman season and he won't wow people too often at this point, but he's just plain solid. He's where he needs to be to make the simple play at all time and he can flash a little skill when needed to get the puck out of trouble. Real strong on his skates too.

Isn't this where our supposedly elite development team struts their stuff?
This is why I call the development crutch a red herring - you can’t develop a player into McDavid without elite speed & skill inherent to the player, development allows fine tuning getting that extra tenth of an inch in board / body positioning, or extra tenth of a second improvement in shot release etc
