To be fair, this sounds like a complete nothing-for-nothing trade - none of the players involved look like they will ever be NHL regulars. Someone was just hoping to find a diamond in the rough in this deal, but both sides just ended with dirt and rocks...
We give draft picks away like candy on Halloween: Joseph plus a 3rd round pick for "Future Considerations" i.e., NOTHING!Why did we add a 4th? Shouldn't we only use draft picks for NHL players? Not ahl fodder...
Yeah, I was really hoping the trend of needlessly (or what seems to be needless) throwing draft picks into deals would have ended up with the Dorion reign of terror & doom but alas, it continues with Stoic Steve Staois. We give draft picks away like candy on Halloween: Joseph plus a 3rd round pick for "Future Considerations" i.e., NOTHING!
I would rather have kept Joseph at $2.95M and not acquired Amadio at $2.5M. We would still have our 3rd round pick too.Yeah, I was really hoping the trend of needlessly (or what seems to be needless) throwing draft picks into deals would have ended up with the Dorion reign of terror & doom but alas, it continues with Stoic Steve Staois.
Rourkie they call himIt still pisses me off revisiting that draft and seeing who was taken right after him. Dorion overthought it when sitting there ready to be taken was Ryan O'Rourke.
Amadio is simply better than JosephI would rather have kept Joseph at $2.95M and not acquired Amadio at $2.5M. We would still have our 3rd round pick too.
The UFA signing of Perron has been a loser.
Amadio is simply better than Joseph
he got better every year in Belleville and injuries really cost him . I was rooting for him. Hope he does well in Finland
Those 10 games a year that Joseph would turn it on and look like a top 6 winger have really tinted the way people look at him.
Dude was invisible for over half the games he played and a defensive liability. Amadio is an under the radar player but is a solid third liner.
I'm happy with that change.
Jarventie was well down MacKenzie's list.It still pisses me off revisiting that draft and seeing who was taken right after him. Dorion overthought it when sitting there ready to be taken was Ryan O'Rourke.
Joseph was not a defensive liability whatsoever. He was one of our better defensive forwards in fact.
