Yeah that first deal shouldn't fly for the Oilers.

I hate the current Jackets approach of seeking grit and character over pure skill, but a 1-2 of Draisatl and Dubois followed by Jones/Werenski/Murray on the back end? Come on...

This is pretty much my line of thought. That's why I'd prefer the Wennberg+Savard for Draisaitl+Fayne deal to the Dubinsky+Savard for RNH+Fayne deal. The latter doesn't exactly solve our problems in the face-off circle, and is really a lateral move for the Jackets.

Wennberg+Savard for Draisaitl+Fayne, imo, would work out well for both teams.

RNH and Oilers 1st for Bozak and Polak.

The 1st is to make up for how much better Bozak is compared to RNH.

Oilers have looked good so far,

Granted, it's early, but I have a feeling it would take a sustained period of looking bad before they would trade a key player who is valuable in the current system for another key player who doesn't know the system.

See what you did here OP? See? This is the kind of drivel that comes from starting a thread with a ridiculous premise. :shakehead

You're only thinking from the CBJ point of view.

Wennberg + Savard for Draisatl + Fayne is poor value for the Oilers. The difference between Wennberg and Draisatl is much larger than the difference between Savard and Fayne.

Also I'd be shocked if Edmonton were even willing to entertain offers for Draisatl. They aren't.

Its been debunked so many times

Even though Stauffer and many others have been quick to dismiss the possibility of Shattenkirk being an option for the Oilers. Its not like he can come out and publicly say "I never want to play in Edmonton so don't trade for me". Trouba has never said he hates Winnipeg and yet everyone talks about the situation as if thats the main reason he hasn't signed yet. Sometimes you just gotta trust what the guys who are paid to know the inside information tell you. I would love Shattenkirk on the Oilers but realistically why would he sign here?

No it hasn't, Shattenkirk wouldn't extend with Edmonton this was from Stauffers very mouth coming from Shatty's agent whom is friends with Stauffer that Shattenkirk wouldn't sign long term there. It was suppose to be a deal around Hall for Shateenkirk and that's why Chiarelli dealt Hall to NJ for Larsson. Show a link stating that it's been debunked because you're wrong here hence the Hall for Larsson deal.

Answer has always been RNH for Dumba and Haula. Oilers would likely have to retain a bit of salary because they wouldnt be taking back much.

A link was just provided to you, Stating from Friedman that Shattenkirk wouldn't agree to an extension with Edmonton so Chia did the Hall for Larsson deal don't know what more proof you need.

What else is MIN adding since Haula will be looking for a raise this summer and Dumba the following long before RNH's contract will be up
