Mo grew up in an extremely affluent area of Vancouver. It is probably one of the most elite areas in the country to be honest. I really don't think money is everything to him, as I assume he has always been very well off.

Mo wants to be a Leaf. Something that is extremely hard to find. To me, he is the ultimate leader. I will be buying his jersey next 100%

The best part is you just know Dubas is going to hunt for another undersized puck mover to fill in for Muzzin's departure.

You mean just like the other undersized D he's traded for, brought in, developed? Like Muzzin, Brodie, Bogosian, Holl???

Yes Mo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TRUE LEADER!

Doesn't bend the team over backwards for money and leaves room for team to add pieces to compete.

Thank You Rielly!

TRUE CAPTAIN!!!!

TRUE LEAF!

You dang rights. I miss Bogo, we really need another one of him for the 3rd pair. Holl can get shot into the sun for all I care too.

Sorry if this has been addressed, didn't skim all 7 pages but any indication of a NMC here?

(Edit: Boy, they are quick at Capfriendly - full NMC, modified NTC for the last two years with a 10-team no-trade list. Reasonable.)

Beyond that, this looks pretty solid and within range for what he brings.

I love that this was completed in October and Management will not need to worry about it come the off season

He isn’t the reason they haven’t progressed but he still part of the problem. I just don’t understand why they are so married to these players.

Cap hit is fair but the term is gross. Rielly looks like he has lost a step physically and I think his best days are behind him. Oh well, next management groups problem.

Takes him to 35, that's perfect for a defenceman. If he still has more in the tank signs cheap 1 year deals until he's done.

Honestly, i'm surprised this gets done during the season given his age etc.

Nice to see Rielly doesn't want out.

Every bigger contract Dubas has ever done seems to have the wrong term.

I'm neutral to this deal and I find the timing bad. I see little problem in waiting til the next me of the season for this issue.

Yup, just ordered a white Rielly jersey for my mother. She was just asking me for one yesterday lol, I wanted to get her a Rielly jersey but was unsure of his future here in Toronto being a pending UFA.

Given the current market, this is a great signing. Now we have two players on my favs list that did the team a solid. Spezza and Rielly. Should also take a lot of heat off management which will no doubt have a trickle down effect.

Love it.

The more I see this contract, the more I think it's the wrong term too. Any injury that could effect his mobility could be dire, he doesn't have the defensive instincts to make up for it.

Waiting 'til season's end/TDL (depending on what the plan is) might have been better, cause then you'd really have an idea if the team needs a full retool or not.
