New York Islanders: Reverse Retro Jersey: Fisherman is back!

The more I think about it, the more I think maybe it's just going to be the previous RR jersey (basically the regular jersey), with the orange and blue fisherman logo in please of the regular "NY" one. And maybe they'll throw orange trim around the numbers. Wavy lines and teal are too much like high numbers or mustaches.

I personally was young but still had fun seeing some of those players rocking that jersey. I don't mind that they bring it back but I only wanted it with the teal.

I mocked this up quick for anyone interested, not sure if this is what it'd look like but what the heck, it'll give some of you more things to complain about.

The mariner is retro enough, I think your mock makes it more clear the wave is just awkward and adds to the ‘too much going on here.’ Might be similar to the logo on current stripes jersey.

The Isles lab stuff is very well done - I think they find a way to clean up the mess of the Jersey with just a update to the mariner.

Maybe they appease the lighthouse lovers with a completely updated patch of the lighthouse.

Honestly, the thing that has always bothers me with this logo is the slanted lettering following the same lines as the goal netting behind the fisherman. I feel that it would look better without the net and the semicircle below the lettering continues on to form a simple full circle above the lettering and around the fisherman's shoulders (basically replacing the the net).

Also maybe change the font of the lettering? Maybe have the lettering flat faced but also following the circle (similar to the usual logo.). Now If one does make that lettering style change, than I'd rather they wrote "Long Island" instead of "Islanders."

C'mon PK we all saw your "Snow must go" t-shirts! You can do this prototype!

What you're suggesting isn't really that hard actually, but it'd take a little time to get right and it's more time than I have at the moment. Maybe in two weeks when I'm free again I'll whip something up for you.

If the rumors of no teal are true then this could be close. I just hope they don’t do the wavy stripes.

I’m indifferent to the fisherman jersey. The NY jersey though is the one I detest.

As for the Fishsticks jersey, the Isles marketing department is clearly not reading the posts on this board, past and present. The old fisherman never had a chance.
