The recent NY is great and I want more of that
This horrendous abomination?
I didn’t think there was anyone who actually likes that logo.

I can’t stand the logo at all. It’s way too basic and looks incomplete. It’s also weirdly proportioned.
Not to mention, the main purpose of that logo’s debut was to remove Long Island from the team to appeal to Brooklyn.
I liked our Stadium Series uniform. Would be perfectly okay with that being a 3rd jersey again. It's good.
"Too basic" is always the complaint that comes from people who don't understand the purpose of a logo (that's not a dig, just a common issue).
What's weird about the proportions?
This logo wasn't introduced until 2018/19, and the original version it's based off of was introduced in 2014/15 before the team moved to Brooklyn. This is the third iteration of the logo and it's by far the best one. It's clean and simple, improves upon an element of the original logo, and most importantly, it can be used in a multitude of ways that the original logo cannot.
You would be surprised, a lot of people like that logo because it says 'NY.' Clean, simple, to the point. It's essentially an extract from the original. This horrendous abomination?

Same, I prefer less orange too. Bring in the silver/grey a bit more.I liked our Stadium Series uniform. Would be perfectly okay with that being a 3rd jersey again.

Now, they should put in a simple space to separate the N and Y so it's more noticeable its a N and Y and the Y is made up of a hockey stick.
It was not designed for Brooklyn, it was part of a subtle strategy to get a broader appeal of the Isles as NY, not just the Island.

As little as we won back then??? I’m sure you didn’t get to say that very much.Sorry but I am 57 and pro Fisherman logo. I always go the other way with this. When the Islanders win i ask "how you them like them fishsticks tonight!" Always own it and they never have a comeback.
Agree. Not so much that I’m a fan of the jersey. But a fan of owning your experience. Don’t let others dictate what you’re supposed to be ashamed of.Sorry but I am 57 and pro Fisherman logo. You mean like hiring a backup goalie straight to the front office because he was good at fantasy sports?Only this organization would bring back a jersey/logo that embarrassed the organization and gave the league another reason to make them a laughing stock.
Personally, that logo rekindles horrible memories. My sons, who are 17 and 19, think it’s awesome. They didn’t live the pain that those of us of a certain age did. To them, it’s just cool…Only this organization would bring back a jersey/logo that embarrassed the organization and gave the league another reason to make them a laughing stock.
ALWAYS about the money!Personally, that logo rekindles horrible memories. My sons, who are 17 and 19, think it’s awesome. They didn’t live the pain that those of us of a certain age did. To them, it’s just cool…
I’m sure that if they bring it back, there was marketing research that told them they’d sell more to people like my kids. And it’s all about the $$…
How many things aren’t about $? Literally alternate uniforms have been a money grab since their inception.Personally, that logo rekindles horrible memories. My sons, who are 17 and 19, think it’s awesome. They didn’t live the pain that those of us of a certain age did. To them, it’s just cool…

Yeah, I agree. My point was more I think they think they’re going to sell more than they expect to turn folks off. Anyone under 40 probably doesn’t share the trauma the rest of us older fans do. And the under 40s are more likely spending money on swag than us older folk. How many things aren’t about $? Literally alternate uniforms have been a money grab since their inception.
Absolutely, there is going to be a demographic that will be more inclined to purchase them.Yeah, I agree. Fair point. But hard to imagine worse than the Spano “era”…Absolutely, there is going to be a demographic that will be more inclined to purchase them.
I just refuse to believe that time period was so much worse compared to a lot of situations where we are wearing our original logo.
Always hated that uni. This horrendous abomination?

While I wasn’t around for it the isles did win 4 straight Stanley cups with that original crest, and had some memorable moments along the way.to the group of people complaining about how the fisherman reminds them of how bad we were when they wore that jersey; we have sucked in our classic uniform too. I just don't get that argument.
We have a boring team name and a boring logo and it just doesn't lend itself to marketing and jersey design the same way as say the Sharks do. 3rd jerseys/retro reverse etc are nothing more than marketing opportunities for the teams/league to make money. Bring back the fisherman. Give us a 3rd jersey with a lighthouse logo. Give us another 3rd jersey in a few years with some other nautical theme.
Let the people yell at the clouds how it isn't traditional. Who cares. Meanwhile, we're a franchise that's done relatively nothing in 40 years. We aren't a worthy enough franchise to think it's sacrilige to mess aroune with our uniforms.
