The grey skin tone? It can get pretty cold out on a fishing boat.

Looking at some of those other logos reminds me of the joke about the guys being chased by a bear and one of them stops to put on running shoes and the other guy tells him he'll never be able to outrun the bear, and the first guy says "I only need to outrun you". In other words, no matter what you think of the fisherman there must be 9 or 10 other logos worse.

I say either go all in on the teal or don't use it at all. It looks super weird and out of place in that logo.

I was just messing with you when I suggested you come up with a prototype. But if you’re willing (at your convenience)… I would certainly appreciate the efforts.

Also on an aside, I agree with your often stated design appreciation of minimal NY jersey. I know it’s an overall hot button item here. But I would have no problem with that becoming the primary jersey… with some modifications, notably to the white shoulders.

Then maintain the traditional logo on merchandise and as a permanent third jersey with only minor ongoing changes to the striping style, number or overall color shading (dark, lighter blue etc) as seen fit from year to year.

A Fisherman iteration jersey and merchandise would be rolled out every so often, but in a more limited amount and usage. Also never to fully supplant the traditional logo at any time.

Sorry for the way late reply. I’m making it a point to cut back on my time spent here. But I wanted to express my appreciation for your efforts.

My suggestions definitely fell flat when put to a visualization. But that’s on me, as they were my suggestions after all. Your designing itself was very well done.

The bottom half wording just doesn’t look right as a sports logo. I still do like the top half with the semi circle in-place of the goal net though. Also the orange fisherman looks better in this format I think. But what to do with the bottom?

Yes awful memories indeed.
And the jerseys sucked too, but i´m a big fan of the logo. The fisherman logo on a more traditional jersey would be fine with me
