Seriously? He traded for a foundational player remember? He talked all about how this team would be better able to do something in the playoffs. This management team was very clear from the beginning that playoffs were expected. Unless you want to suggest he didn't make these moves to improve the team. This management team was very clear from the beginning that playoffs were expected. Unless you want to suggest he didn't make these moves to improve the team. Which feel free to do so but you will be 100% wrong.

We didn't trade youth for vets (outside of Kas/Prust) so I don't see any of the other moves as making a playoff push rather than trying to make the team better for more than just this season.

They talked alot about playoffs, sure. But I think they tried to cater to both sides (playoffs and youth). Was it misguided? Probably. But I don't buy everything they have publicly said.
