This is about as far as i would go in a trade. Though i'd assume that the Spurs would want Anunoby instead of Poeltl. Or both. Possibly even a pick.

Masai should go for Kawhi but he has to be careful not to lose all of our future pieces for a guy that will in all likelihood be here for 1 season.

Again, a 0.4 Vorp Oladipo on what was perceived to be a bad contract at the time and a rookie -1.2 Vorp Sabonis is what closed the deal last year. No Anunoby. At best, a 1st gets thrown in.

That was perceived as a very bad deal at the time. It's worked out fantastic, but the Pacers were absolutely hammered when that went down. Trust me, I'm a Pacers fan lol

I think it would be OG instead of Poetl and a 1st as well. The rumored packaged they were seeking from LA was insane (though, of course, they were asking for all that because it was LA).

Knowing Masai’s “never lose a trade” history, he’s trying to center the deal around JV.

Masai is a bold guy.

If getting Kahwi is in the realm of possibility, I’m sure he’s doing anything he can to get it done

That could work as well. JV ($16.5MM) + Delon ($2.5MM) + Richardson ($1.5MM) + 1st rnd pick

Richardson is still on the roster? lol.

Spurs would probably look for something more than JV plus Delon, since the pick would project to be bottom 5.

Indeed he is, or at the very least, his cap hold is.

I'm certain they are looking for more, and its unfortunate that their most valuable asset isn't worth more given the current contract situation.

The issue is that if they were willling to take a package of the quality of JV+Delon, there would be a half dozen other teams that would be interested and could conceivably make a similar offer.

I honestly think the Raps will pull this off without losing Demar or Kyle. It makes too much sense. Going all in for 1 season with Kawhi. That 3 headed monster should be a lock for the ECF and quite possibly the NBA finals.

It’s basically all in and hope Curry or Durant get injured throughout the playoffs.

Delon would be interesting for the Spurs considering Parker and Anderson are gone. Not a lot of perimeter shooting between him, Mills, and Murray, but that’d be some really good guard defence.

Hang on where is Duncan? Ginobli? Parker? Pops?

He definitely didn't win that on his own. He didn't put that team on his back like other great champions did he?

Who are those great champions? Lebron didnt either as he had Irving
Durant didnt either as he had Curry and Thompson
What are you complaining about?

Exactly! People need to realize that you can't win in the NBA unless you have 2 star players minimum. So the argument that Kawhi didn't win on his own or carry his team is invalid.

True very true. Not complaining just trying to understand how good this guy actually is. Sounds like hes the real deal. I'm just not ready to trade DD or Lowry for him on a one year deal. Add him to Lowry and DD, then we are talking. Don't believe he will be as good without both. Just personal opinion.

To put into perspective how dominant Leonard was in the 17 playoffs

These are his numbers

TS%: .672
PPG: 27.7
RPG: 7.8
APG: 4.6
STL: 1.7
TO: 2.2
PER: 31.5
Diff ORTG: +22.2 (like please admire this stat)

-Took care of business against a good Memphis team in 6
-Beat a Harden led team in 6 (very good team btw)
-Small sample size but the Spurs were dominating GS in game 1 when Kawhi got injured and the rest of the series is history

I'm glad Kawhi was brought up today so we can admire how amazing he is
